^Jumping in, I think Rettke is definitely more polished at this point than McClellan but we also have to project forward a few years when talking about prospects. I think it's a little telling that Sheffield did offer McClellan before Rettke. It was only after McClellan committed to Nebraska did Shef double his effort to land Rettke. Of course, we're splitting hairs, they're both fantastic prospects. Rettke is taller and more skilled right now, McClellan probably has the higher ceiling based on athleticism. Both have the potential to be phenomenal in college. I'm pretty sure McClellan committed to NU a couple weeks after Rettke's Wisconsin commitment was announced from the articles I remember. Would be hard to know who offered who when outside of the player & the family's. I'm guessing both Sheffield & Cook had the chance to tell them how they could play as freshmen, be on the Olympic team, dream big , bring it and all the other fun stuff that goes with recruiting;) I can't remember for sure, but I think McClellan was the middle that Shef thought he had basically wrapped up and then she eliminated Wisconsin before committing to Nebraska a month later. I think she decided on Nebraska back in early October but waited to commit until her visit. But whatever, it's all done now. They've both been committed for a year.

The longer the top recruit stays uncommitted...the better for Stanford! lol After a (arguably) top 2016 recruiting year, Stanford won't have room for someone unless that is a top OH. Stanford will have a junior Hodson, senior Lutz/Vanjak, a sophomore Fitz/Keefe/Plummer/Gray/Hentz and all those back-up middles (Alade/Froistad/Bowen) and DS. What Stanford will hope is an amazing 2018 recruiting...which I think is going to happen. Sun is already committed to Texas. She's likely the #1 for 2017. Sun's offense is undeniable but her passing is not top tier.. She could be the number 1 recruit based on her offense but there is work to do. Call me old school, good passing / six rotation outsides are important.

I prefer the well-rounded 6-rotation OH. However, with the current substitution rules the premium has been shifted on outsides that can bang. I just don't see how Sun won't be considered the premier recruit because of that. Similar to Lanier this year.

Just from the incoming Huskers, I know McClellan and Sweet were two of the most highly coveted recruits at their positions (MB and RS, respectively) based on the schools that offered them. No idea what that means for rankings. Likely at least one will be top 10 and both top 15-20. Maybe each fan base can shed some light on who they've offered or from whom they have received commitments. Both Chesney McClellan and Jazz Sweet will be top-15 players. The Huskers are sitting very good with one of the top OHs in that class too. Big time class for that cycle. I PM'd you. I heard about an elite outside hitter recruit who the Huskers have a big lead with right now.

Defense isn't great and her passing has a ways to go, but she'll be a major factor from day 1 at Texas.

Sun and Lanier are the two best OHs to not enter a collegiate match yet. Outstanding. .

I don't want to throw the name out there because most players and coaches dont necessarily want their recruiting information made public. Regarding this specific player, I haven't seen her name tied with Nebraska publicly and only found out via an assistant who coaches on her club team, so it's not really my place to out the info unless I know she doesn't care and/or the Husker coaches don't care. It's one thing to talk offers, but this coach suggested that she's probably close to committing but didn't give a timetable.

In this class I would say Brionne Butler is an Alhassan-like athlete. Not a perfect comparison, but definitely some similarities. Brionne already has an approach touch of 10ft 11 inches. I think she's only going to get stronger/jump higher. I can see her being similar to Bailey Webster. It's 10'8, nevertheless still amazing!

Sun and Lanier are the two best OHs to not enter a collegiate match yet. Outstanding. . Paige Hammons is going to be better than both of them by the time she gets to college. A true OH has to be a well rounded 6 rotations player. I think Hammons already has an edge on both of them defensively.

This past season I believe was her first completely on the outside (she used to be a middle), and she isn't always the most consistent in the back row. Also I don't understand why else everyone thinks Lanier is so bad in the back row, she made some pretty nice ups in the all-america match and I think she is comparable in her abilities of serve receive compared to her peers
