Is that Hugh sitting in the stands? MOSSER IS ON FIRE....Hugh may be kicking himself that he got Martin instead of Mosser. Did they end up getting a waiver so that DI coaches could watch the finals today? I never heard a follow up on that. I saw Sheff there this morning, his head briefly popped into camera view during Sting's first match and then he walked off, I did not see him again in any camera view. Was looking through the crowd and did not notice any other obvious coaches Congrats to Mn Select! They did not overpower anybody and were down for about half of the tourney but never stopped coming back. Should be a lesson to all that resilience and never giving up pays off in the end. 4 other teams had higher point ratios than Select did but they ended up as the one holding the trophy at the end

Does anybody know if there is a replay of the 18 open final? I had to miss it to go watch my daughter play soccer. Watched probably 16 hours of ball leading up to that match (actually 2-3 games at a time so probably closer to 40+ hours total) only to miss the final

That statement is ragging on martin? And what is this bull about hilley? I've done nothing but compliment her play, explicitly saying she was better than gray when they played invasion saturday. Future conference affiliation played zero roll in my comments about the players this weekend. Perhaps you should give specific examples rather than foaming at the mouth and accusing me of things I did NOT say.

Watching this weekend underscored the importance for me of pin hitters learning solid passing and defending, regardless of position.
Kahlia Lanier, the number one recruit in the country, was a downright liability on serve receive. Lexi Sun, who will probably be top 5 next year, struggled as well. And thus with a weak first contact were Storm and Coast, the favorites going in, defeated.
Don't get me wrong, I would take either player in a Badger uniform in a heartbeat. But the first thing I'd do is send them to work on serve receive and floor defense.
Serve and pass is how matches are win and lost.

This is EVERYTHING that has ANYTHING to do with Hilley that I've said this weekend: 1- McGraw is great, can't believe she's just a soph 2- Hilley is better in transition than Gray.
Minny select's backcourt is 10 times better than Invasions.
I think Hilley is just as good of a SETTER, Shook is the better PLAYER, more height and athleticism for the block and span on defense. Lilley is better than both.
Select being in the finals isn't surprising, they have some great pieces and play well together. They weren't sharp in pool play the first day but got it together as the tourney went on.
Money should be on select, but you never know!
Select just playing very well as a team right now, too much for LB, who can't get anything going in transition.
Congrats select! Very well played match, should be the favorite to repeat next year!...How can any of this be constructed to be "ragging" on Hilley? If you are going to come for me, you better come with something better.

Interesting..... Watching this weekend I probably would have gone with Davis and King as my number 2.

I watched the match that Coast lost, and I don't think Lexi was the liability. Her serve receive was more solid than the other pin hitters and her defense wasn't a glaring liability. I think it was their weakness in having other pin hitters not Lexi that could score.

And if White can shore up some of her passing issues in one year of college ball (which it seems like she has quite a bit), I have the same hope for Sun as well!

Mosser could be UCLA first top 5 senior ace. Fingers crossed It would help if she were a couple inches taller, but certainly not out of the realm of possibility
