Mosser could be UCLA first top 5 senior ace. Fingers crossed I doubt it. I think she's a great player, glad she'll be in the pac 12, but senior aces is about potential, there are at least 5 players who will he rated higher than her...there are three exceptional setters in this class, of course sun, Hammons is a monster, butler can crush it.

All tournament: Milan Stokes (Mizuno Long Beach 18 Rockstar J) Claire Mosher (Milwaukee Sting) Caroline McGraw (Minnesota Select) MVP Sydney Hilley (Minnesota Select) Tess Reid (KC Power) Norene Iosia (Mizuno Long Beach 18 Rock Star) Ayla Fresenius (Laguna Beach MS 18-1) Megan McClure (Laguna Beach MS 18-1) Shaina White (Laguna Beach MS 18-1) Lexi Sun (Coast 18-1 Ozhan) Allie Barber (Milwaukee Sting 18 Gold) Lauren Stivrins (Arizona Storm 18 Thunder) Khalia Lanier (Arizona Storm 18 Thunder) Jennifer Mosser (Minnesota Select 18-1) Ashley Brown (TAV 18 Black) The only all tourney from TAV was Brown. Interesting..... Watching this weekend I probably would have gone with Davis and King as my number 2. Jada Burse was their best player. Emily Hill was their next best. Committee: "Uhhhhh the setter..." (that plays 3 rotations) TAV had at least 4 better choices. And everyone says Stivrins was unimpressive. Their SETTER played with a broken hand. And that isn't deserving of all-tournament??? Way to dig deep and actually watch the matches!

Ive never seen Butler play in any extended action but having seen pictures and videos of her jumping... that alone would make me surprised to not see her in the top 10. She is a ridiculous athlete, and given the fact that she also made the YNT, she's probably a pretty good player as is right now

I agree. I do not actually think any of the 2017 setters are going to be the no.1 recruit though. I mainly say this because they are pretty unusual. The last one was LC and we know what kind of impact she had. If Hilley were the 2013 badger recruit, would she have had a similar impact? Would she have even beaten out CT for the setting position? I do not know. I am guessing it is going to follow the usual trend of being an outside. Probably sun, but I don't know. I feel like setters are hard to compare to hitters as far as college potential because they are generally the more polished players in high school, and they do depend a lot on the players around them. Basically what I am saying is setters HAVE to be super polished in order to be in the top 5 or 10, but hitters are either incredibly polished (ex. Hodson or haggerty) or a high ceiling (ex. lanier or alhassan). Setters basically have to be incredibly developed already in order to crack the top 10 it seems.

Can you elaborate on Butler? I've never seen her play. She's incredibly dynamic of an athlete. the few times I've seen her I've been most impressed by how fast and smooth she closes the block and transitions off the net to attack. She switched clubs this season and now plays for a more visible and talented Houston Juniors 17. They go to most big qualifiers (they are already qualified for GJNC). I'll make a mental note to let you know HJV will be on stream at the open. They will likely be in a pool that is featured a few times on the show courts. But her accolades speak volumes. She made the traveling youth national team as a rising junior, beating out top players a year older than her like top 10 recruit Stivrins. Texas fans have A LOT to be excited about.

Sydney Hilley has won a few joust and blocked an overpass from Imani Davis. Also Jen Mosser's shot selection is impressive. If she doesn't get the kill, the team is out of system She also won a few jousts yesterday against Fitzmorris, think is was 3-0 hilley over Fitz in jousts I watched most of that match and Fitzmorris and Hilley never jousted against each other!!!! That is not accurate at all! Just in case, she did not block Fitz either!

Hammons needs to hit a ball with more pace before I consider her a top 5 recruit. Passing and blocking are great for an OH, where she hits the ball is great, but it will be even better when she hits the ball harder.

Is anyone aware of whether or not the semi-finals and finals will be replayed? I believe the Finals broadcasts for all 4 divisions will be on the USAV website at some point in the near future. Unfortunately, the Semi's between MN Select and AZ Storm, which turned out to be the real "Finals", may not be. Standing court side, it was an epic battle and I completely agree that Storm handled defeat with great class. Had a chance to shake hands with Khalia Lanier at the scorer's table after the match and wish her the best for her future play. Coach Terry Spann's record of 2 Golds, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze with a team that stuck together through 15-18's is remarkable. Of course, the expectations were for 4 Golds but a couple of tough losses to determined and unintimidated opponents kept that from happening!

How about a little love for NKYVC? 5-3 on weekend and beat Skyhigh, Metro and Excel NW with a lineup of under 6-0 ft. Probably one of the best volleyball player IQs in the tourney.

I wish both the semis could be uploaded... they were way more competitive than the championship
