I tend to sympathize with Hooker because it's not as if she was arrested, or has a partying/drug problem, or assaulted anyone, etc. As far as I know, the reason she is not with the NT is because she brought friends to closed practices, and Karch didn't like Destinee's attitude..? I don't know all the details, but that is one of the few things that has surfaced. To me, adults should be able to accept each other for their differences, and that is all this is, IMO. It's all over something so seemingly trivial. I like both Karch and Destinee, and it's sad to see them have a public feud like this. They are two of the biggest figures in volleyball in America today, and neither of them are going away anytime soon. They need to make up sooner, rather than later. It's inevitable; they're going to have to make up someday, so why not now? #myplea I don't know that this is a public feud since the public seems to not know what's really going on. Clearly those two do and I haven't heard or seen anything that they have said about it. The only thing I've heard Karch say on the subject was at Convention in 2014 when he said the sum of the whole is greater than the individual parts. He did not mention anyone by name, but everyone knew to what/whom he was referring. I have not been in the gym with Destinee so I cannot speak anything to her character. I have been around Karch enough times to know what kind of guy he is, and I don't doubt his decisions. We didn't win gold in London with Destiny. We did win the World Championships in 2014 without her.

A team sport is much more than the best physical talent. Perhaps you should read my whole post before jumping to a response? That way you won't look so silly. Your post was not whole until you edited it after I made that statement. What kind of games are you playing here?

It's the Coaches job to manage talent, and attitude. A good coach often does lot of different things to handle talent.
Not to excuse any misbehaviour, but a lot of talented players are difficult.
I would be surprised if Karch or any other good coach after some time, would not welcome the chance to make things better if it helps his team.

She should not be on the roster. End of story.

But there is a limit to what a coach can put up with. At some point, a player reaches a level in her "difficulty" that its not worth for him or her to remain on the team. Because they cause more discord then helping the team win games. And that has a negative impact on the whole team.

I do not know Destiny or Karch, but it was fairly common knowledge that Destiny was going through a lot of personal turmoil as well. Having children, a difficult marriage, her dad getting involved publicly.
I also remember a Destiny Hooker, who would take time each week to respond to tons of little girls, who worshipped her in volleyball via twitter.
Just as a fan of the game, I loved to watch her play, I hope she plays in the Olympics.

Your post was not whole until you edited it after I made that statement. What kind of games are you playing here? I did not read your comments when I edited. Only afterwards. Please don't imply something that does not exist. The fact is, your response is silly because nowhere did I say physical talent is all that matters. A reasonable person would assume that helping contribute at her position would entail physical talent. Destiny is quite possibly the most physically gifted athlete ever to put on that jersey. Clearly there is something else at play that is preventing her from being on the court.

Just don't assume I was only thinking about talent with my post. Don't put words in my mouth, man.

I did not miss those points. Those points did not exist when I made that comment. Well I think you did miss, you just did not read them yet at that point. Look at the timestamps. As of the time I'm writing this, 8:14 pm CT, your original post I replied to was made 47 minutes ago. My response was 41 minutes ago. Your edit, in which you included those points you said I did not read, occurred 35 minutes ago.
