I look at the information from Brenda Tracy with a bit of skepticism. She is profiting from her "victimization"...she certainly isn't going around giving talks to football programs for free. I also would be wary of her talking to state schools, such as Nebraska.I would guess that she brings Jesus into the picture and that, at state schools, shouldn't be allowed. Oh boy, here comes the attacks. How dare you speak of Brenda Tracy in this manner. Oh and @sbvb - any news on your investigation on Rick coaching and chaperoning. I mean it would be nice to hear some info backing up your claims. Any new information out there...Bueller...Bueller...

Investigation? What are you talking about? For some reason you brought up that he was coaching boys in great lakes and you said you had personal knowledge that he was not at the boys GJNC and AES was out of date. I don't have any reason to doubt you, plus I don't care even a little bit about either.

Lets post this aswell. emailed statement, Butler told the Journal Star he has known Griffin for years and does "not want the regurgitation of allegations from the early and mid 1980s that were adjudicated over 20 years ago to interfere with what she is trying to accomplish." "I was more than willing to step away from doing the camp since it has always been done as a favor to Maggie to provide the best training experience possible for her players," he wrote. It would be great if an ex Olympian or hall of fame coach would step in "to provide the best training experience possible for her players," but with out the risk of subjecting the kids to a pedophile.

And your posts really seemed like you didn't care. I will accept this as you stating you jumped the gun. We all make mistakes. But seriously anything new or are we going to keep posting different angles of the same stuff.

Sooooo is she; A - Insuring so that they do not have a lawsuit brought against them or B- Ensuring that he DID or did not commit one of the deadly sins of being a coach Seems like a panic response from the organizations leader, only thing that could have made it better was if it had "sent from my iPhone" at the bottom. I mean you know because OTL/ESPN has no credibility that they would run an entire segment on it, or that there is actually a lawsuit filed against the AAU right now. She is right. Rick is a current member of USAV, AAU, and JVA. Rick coached in a USAV boys tournament this summer in the Great Lakes Region. So basically USA Volleyball and Lori are saying one thing and doing another. That is the problem with news outlets and social media these days. They can be very misleading if you do not remove the emotion and sit back and look at things objectively. What response are you looking for from the JVA or any other of your email attempts? We agree with you burn him at the stake. I don't think you will get any response like that. If you throw around the lawyer thing it will be drawn out over several years. If you get any of your responses back post them as images. Feel free to black out your personal information as we want to be anonymous on this site without fear of people really knowing who we are. Except the admins who can trace your personal information or your IP address. This comes up every few years because of the hatred towards Rick and the 'evil empire' that is Sports Performance. Our society is very selfish. People are only going to look out for themselves. If it doesn't directly affect them, then they don't care. This probably explains the continued success of SPVB. It really is not effective for people to come on an anonymous site. Say anything they want because they can (I played for SPVB, I coached for SPVB, I know someone of someone, or anything of that matter). I can make up anything I want. I'm a Dad, I'm a Mom, I'm a player, I'm a coach, I'm a college coach, I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, whatever...) I believe this is what Odin is saying. If you have an issue with Rick contact those media outlets. If you are a victim find the courage to come forward, but I would think that posting in an anonymous forum is not a healthy coping mechanism. Well, dukesbeachouse, I have been reading this thread for a few days. You keep yapping at everyone else, but you are the person who said he was coaching at a USAV event in the Great Lakes Region, not anyone else. See your above quote. So maybe being a condescending jerk isn't the right approach on this subject.

Can you elaborate on how you know she is profiting, what other schools she has been giving paid talks at and where the reference to religion came from? I'd been interested to know if there is anything shady with her story. I only know what I read in two articles about her, and I didn't get any of that from either. What was mentioned, is that Mike Reilly specifically invited her to come address his players at Nebraska because he was the coach at Oregon St. 18 years ago when his players were involved in her rape. He didn't extend the invitation earlier because she only recently came forward that she was the victim. She had been anonymous prior to that.

You keep yapping at everyone else, but you are the person who said he was coaching at a USAV event in the Great Lakes Region, not anyone else. See your above quote. So maybe being a condescending jerk isn't the right approach on this subject. I was pointing out that Jenny Hahn was correct in that he is a current USAV member. Anyone can see that on social media, with less than 5 minutes of digging. And good on sbvb for seeing him on AES, that means he is a USAV member too. Clarifying that he still can coach in USAV. Did Lori from USA Volleyball state this? No. Another poster mentioned that he can chaperone and be a club director in USAV. Did Lori mention this? No. USAV is trying to save face. Sbvb and other posters were in an uproar saying the boys team should penalized. So I said contact the GLR and/or BJNC. Don't believe me. You may think I'm a jerk. That is fine. But there are more productive ways of getting your point across than this thread or forum. These threads will die out soon on this issue. Funny how people don't realize it. Mostly because there is nothing new that occurs and the same people talk all the time. You need more of a boots on the ground method. That is all I was saying too. The problem is the anger and emotion everyone has which in turn people get attacked. This solves nothing. Am I right. So I decided to jump in the convo. This is just a rant thread. I said in my own way. What other tactics do you think would work? But nobody says anything. I think when everyone stops being condescending jerks on both sides something will get accomplished.

One notion that bothers me, is the idea that victims who choose to advocate or share, should suffer financially while doing it. I would assume that Brenda Tracy has personal expenses to cover, just like the rest of us. Should she suffer abuse, then run through her finances trying to raise awareness?

Rick Butler was not at USAV in Dallas. He was running a camp with over 170 athletes in attendance during that time. Whoever said they saw him is not correct.
AES does not get updated rosters if done after a certain time. If roster changes are made after the deadline you can still make them but I think USAV charges a fee for it, AAU does not. Not sure what the fee goes to because it doesn't get updated anyway.
USAV checks chaperone I.D when picking up passes. What you see on AES is not the official roster USAV has during the championship.
