Don't forget that Stanford won the championship with two solid passers out of the lineup and pretty poor middle back defense. If Lutz goes middle, then I say put Hodson and Keefe on the OH and Plummer on the right. Depends on how ready Hodson/Keefe are though

This wasn't a dominating season, this was a team that got hot at the right time. Sometimes teams do just get hot at the right time. But that wasn't the case with Stanford this year. Once they made the lineup change about half way through the conference season they were the best team in the country. They rolled through the second half of the conference with only one loss (UCLA) and a ton of sweeps. Replacing Inky won't be easy, but lets not pretend that this was a fluke win by a hot team. Best team in the country as soon as they switched? Hardly. Stanford gradually grew in confidence but still had a lot of exploitable weaknesses (oh2, middle back defense, non-Hentz passing), but was able to neutralize a lot of their deficiencies, gut out a five set thriller at wisconsin, and follow that up with two more hard fought, quality wins.

Replacing Inky will be far more difficult than some Tree fans want to admit.
Play and game changer.

Replacing Inky will be far more difficult than some Tree fans want to admit. Play and game changer. Not this fan. Losing Inky will completely change the makeup of this team, and their block will defintely suffer for it. Her athletic ability and leadership will not be easily replaced. A couple reasons that I'm optimistic for a possible repeat are: 1. HENTZ 2. Stanford had a fantastic group of servers who really put their tournament opponents in tough situations. All servers return next year, plus you add Haley Hodson, who will probably be the best server in the country IF she fully recovers. Her serve is world class. 3. All passers return along with Gray, and Hodson will be a big upgrade in passing as well. Much will depend on if Haley can make a full recovery.

Stanford does not have a lock on next year...
1. Inky gone...don't have the stats but her block, the slide and here senior leadership were on point 2. Hodson, if she does return, in what condition, is an Xfactor, and not in a good way. Godspeed for her....
I favor the field...
3. Texas, with the addition of Sun, along with Ebony, Obu, and White....hungry and formidable... 4. SC, cause, that's my team...if they get Iosia and YBG, along with Lanier, they will be formidable....libero and coach on the court their weak spots. I have no info on their recruits.
Coming for blood
5. Nebraaska

Untill convinced otherwise, myself bprtbone and up to as many as 3 others believe Michigan will win it Next year. Where will the scoring come from?

I will admit to some humour, and a lot of optimism in my prediction. As for the scoring, it will come by committee. Crocker will have 300 kills next year. Skjodt and Lambert will increase their 2016 totals by at least 100 reach as well. If we play traditional, RS scoring will increase, or 3 middle and someone new steps up.

Hopefully it is someone in the field, and more precisely Wisconsin as I will be there.
