just to clarify, which non-midwest teams are coming? Looking at the AES website of registered teams, it looks like (for 18's): Bay-to-Bay, The HBC, BRYC, LIVBC, Pittsburgh, Annapolis (Jaylen Jasper's team), and AZ Fear. I only mentioned the teams from outside of the Midwest that I believe could potentially finish well, as there are many more out of region teams attending. It's too bad we won't get to see Titans VBC (Canada) or another elite Pakmen (Canada) team coming down. Also rather surprising to not see Baja (Mexico) or Borinquen Coqui (Puerto Rico). Both teams have attended in the past, but neither will be this year. Should be a great tournament either way though! Titans team from last year actually disbanded. Most players went to Lakeside Volleyball Club who are competing in the NCVA tournament this weekend. There one leftside, Andrew Tauhid went to Pakmen though.

My top 6 for 18s are, in no order. 1. St Louis HP 2. Spri Mizuno 3. Ultimate 18 gold 4. Hitmen 18 Elite 5. Adversity 18 purple 6. Adversity 18 black Traditionally the strongest clubs, I don't think there will be any major surprises. Don't know strength of California teams coming, HBC could be top 4. Not sure about Hitmen or SPRI Mizuno, both teams had injuries during Palos; Hitmen was done a middle and SPRI two outsides. HPSTL did well at the Ulitmate invite but that's very early in the season with teams like SPRI moving players around. My predictions: 1. HPSTL 2. Adversity Purple 3. HBC 4. SPRI Mizuno 5. Hitmen Elite

Hitmen was down OH Murphy (Ohio State) and MH Connelly (Carthage) and still finished second overall in the Palos Points Series, and lost to Mizuno in the finals the last weekend, with a tough first set fading in the second. They are healthy now and look good for a Winter Classic bid. Mizuno started slowly but came on at PPS to win the last weekend, and look great in the last few, even without OH Winkler for most. Both Adversity teams played well, but were beat along the way by Hitmen and Mizuno. Should be fun next weekend in Chicago.

Any thoughts on what the gold bracket could look like for 17s?

When considering the top midwest teams Hitmen SP Mizzuno Adversity (1s and 2s?) Club 1 Can they realistically beat the top SOcal teams? Or even the teams coming in form different place?

I feel like you mention a different group of teams every few days lol. You are very correct. I've been keeping up to date on AES of which teams do well, providing users with a new top list every once and a while. However, now that tournaments have ended leading up to the tournament, my list is final^

I dont disagree with any of these BUT HBC is playing really well out West, Vanguard from Ohio & I switched Adversity Black for Purple should also be in the mix so perhaps we should look at the top 10 teams for Chicago with 6 of those get to cash their ticket to Columbus.
1. HPSTL 2. HBC 3. SP Mizzuno 4. Club 1 5. Hitmen 6. Bay to Bay 7. Adversity (Purple) not Black 8. Ultimate 18 Gold 9.Vanguard 10. D1
