[br- ----------------- SCVA gives no respect to non california teams and didn't take any finishes on Chicago as part of their seeding analysis. Hitmen 18 elite gets waaaay underseeded and has the ability to be the first big upset Day1. HBC didn't put up much of a fight in Chicago and finished 11th losing I Believe 3 times to Midwest teams, yet get a 5 seed on their home turf....yeah I get it they finished 5 in their points tournament but Midwest teams also had Points series where they finished much higher than their seeds at scva are lower It will be fun to watch some good competition and hope to see some big upsets this wekend! What's worse is Club 1 beat them in 2 in the silver bracket at the Chicago qualifier and they defeated Vangaurd 18 Gold in the finals of that bracket. To,add more insanely, They finished higher then Vegas United and all 3 teams were seeded night then them at this event. I'd be pissed, can you even protest/argue tthe seedlings?
The best way to protest / argue the seedings is to go out and prove them wrong. Clearly some things could be better but the play and end result should dictate this. Tournaments (particularly in SC) seem to look down the road to provide match-ups that are likely to give SC teams a better opportunity at bids. Looking at the bid winners / top finishers in Chicago. Four of the 6 bid winners (Bay to Bay already had theirs) were seeded as if they shouldn't even make the gold bracket. Even crazier was the CUVC and Aspire teams who were the 4th and 3rd seeds in their bracket on the opening day and got bids.
Let the boys take it as motivation and show the error of the seeding by their play on the court.
TEAM Incoming Seed Final Result Adversity 10 1st STLHP 1 2 Bay2Bay 4 5 SPVB Mizuno 2 3 Aspire ROX 52 5 AZ Fear 11 5 CUVC 66 5

Some notes about 17s on Day 1
As Volleygod1212 noted: OCVC 17 who was seeded 3rd in the pool took 949 17 to three sets and 949 won 16-14 in third set. OCVC won their other two matches (25-6, 25-8) and (25-8, 25-10). They can be a surprise.
OCVC will be a tough pool for round two with HBC 17, AZ Fear and Outrigger.
MB Surf beat #3 seed in pool Pac6 in three sets. MB Surf held onto their 3rd seed overall and won their pool. Pac6 came seeded 3rd seed in the pool moved on coming 2nd in the pool.
MVVC 17 was upset by Aspire 17. MVVC17 came in seeded as 9th seed overall and 1st in the pool and now Aspire took that spot and MVVC came 2nd in their pool.
The interesting pool for Saturday 2nd Round Pool 8
SASVBC Boys 17s - were seeded 8th and held spot (3-0 for day) Coastal B17 Navy - were seeded 10th and held spot (3-0 for day) MVVC 17 Red - were seeded 9th but lost thier spot (2-1 for day)
All three teams can still advance to the gold round but this is a tough pool.

Why isn't Gage Worsley playing with PacRim? Not on the roster for the tourney.

I hear that the Hitman 18 outside who is going to Ohio State broke his hand is out. Hitmen are without future Buckeye Murphy, but have gone 5-1, beating BRYC, Seaside, LBVC and others. Lilly, Long and Cebula playing out of their minds. 3-0 today, play in game next for Gold Bracket. - u k

Yorktowne already got a bid at Can-Am. That means there are 3 bids left. There are 8 teams in Silver, and 2 of them have bids (NCVC & MVVC), while a 3rd team is from Canada (Force), and probably won't accept a bid. That means there are 5 teams playing for those 3 bids. SMBC, Vegas XTREME, Hitmen, Rockstar and Club 1. Depends on what teams make it to the semis. Could wind-up with some bid playoffs, if Force, NCVC & MVVC advance. We'll see what happens. Congrats to all those teams that earned their bids, especially LBVC with a surprise upset over Rockstar. Interesting that teams that already received bids elsewhere, didn't fare as well in this tournament. Bay to Bay, (qualified in NorCal and Chicago), AZ Fear (Chicago) and Aspire (Chicago). Aspire is in Flight play, while Bay to Bay and Fear are in Bronze. Sometimes teams end up with a tough matchup or pick the wrong time to have an off-game. Never know.

For 17s will the top 2 teams in silver receive bids?

Top 4 in Silver will get bids - MVVB and HBC already have bids, all you need to do in Silver is win one game. Coastal is in Silver (already with a bid), so if they win their first there will still be a bid available for teams who lose their first game in Silver.
