The last time I played video games was, per my daily journal, March 22, 2019. So, it's been over two months since I last touched my console! (This sounds like an Alcoholics Anonymous testimonial.) that's crazy

Another thing the Hitman franchise is doing is something called "elusive targets". Among other things, they are a reward for not being a Wolfgang and waiting to buy the game years later when it costs $4.99.
Anyway, what they do is release a new mission and start a seven-day countdown clock. During the time the mission is available, you get one shot to play it. No saves, no restarts. Succeed or fail, the mission is over when it ends. There were 26 elusive targets for Hitman (all which were over before I bought the game). There have been five for Hitman 2. I just played the fifth one (the only one since I bought the game).
One of the "elusive targets" was Gary Busey. Gary Busey actually did the voice acting for the mission where you (as Agent 47) were tasked to kill him.

Hitman's DLC "Patient Zero" added a level where you have five targets (four of which are initially hidden) and you are up in a sniper tower. You have to snipe all five targets. If the targets see you kill anybody, they may decide to run for an exit.
Apparently they must have gotten good feedback on that, because for Hitman 2 they added a "sniper assassin" mode. There are two levels so far. In each one you have three targets that are going to leave in 15 minutes. They also have about a dozen bodyguards. The goal is to shoot the targets and the bodyguards. Ideally you take them out one at a time, in such a way that they fall into water, or bushes, or off a cliff, or otherwise disappear. Once you get the three main targets the clock stops. If a kill is seen or a body is found, alarms go off and the targets will try to run to a place of safety. The perfect "silent assassin" run is to take out each target such that nobody notices any kills, all the bodies are hidden, and none of the non-targets are killed. There are no saves or checkpoints, so it gets kind of tense toward the end. If targets don't conveniently put themselves in position to be hidden, you can lead them there. If you shoot close to them, they will investigate the bullet impact. (World's stupidest people ... walk toward where a sniper just shot.)
There are also little environmental games to play too. Like finding and shooting the 10 rubber ducks hidden around the place. Or ruining the marriage ceremony that is going on (shoot the cake, shoot the cage that holds the doves they were going to release, shoot the glass of wine the priest keeps drinking, shoot the bride's bouquet, etc.). Or in one case you can cause a BASE jumper at the top of a cliff to get up enough nerve to jump, then try to shoot him in mid-flight.

Even though I haven’t played video games in over 2 months, I’ve been checking the PSN site regularly for possible deals. (The act of looking for deals on the PSN site is, on its own, surprisingly entertaining.) Right now, I’ve got so much going on in my life that a great game deal may throw a wrench in my finely tuned daily routine.

I've been playing nothing but Hitman for quite a while now. Still enjoying it, but I'm starting to feel a slight building up of the feeling that I'm getting over it.
For me, this happens sometime between the point where finding new things in the game is a pleasure and the point where I'm starting to get annoyed that I have to find some obscure thing to complete some obscure challenge.
I'm still delighted to find out that there is a hidden joke that you only get when you decide to assassinate an elderly man by making his oxygen tank leak and then slipping him a pack of cigarettes, knowing that when he lights up for that nicotine hit ... boom! But I'm starting to reach the point where I look at the assassination challenges and I see that there are three more ways to kill that same elderly man that I haven't done yet, and I start feeling like maybe I have to do them all. Recently I was in a position where I could kill that same man by blowing him up or electrocuting him, and I was kind of annoyed that I would have to do it twice if I wanted both methods. Plus I still hadn't sniped him from the treehouse yet. Or poisoned his tea.
(He wanted some mole holes blocked up. I put an explosive device down one, then left a coin on his porch that had an RFID tag in it. He picked up the coin and put it in his pocket. Then when he walked past the explosive mole hole ... boom!)

Agent 47, posing as a doctor, prepares to give a target a lethal IV.
Target: "So doc, what's in this, anyway?"
47: "Mostly floral extracts. Hemlock, belladonna, and aconite."
Target: "Belladonna? Isn't that poisonous?"
47: "Yes."
Target: "Should I be concerned?"
47: "I'm not. Don't worry, it will all be over soon."

Good sale going on right now at PSN:
Dying Light: The Following (Enhanced Edition) $9.99 Uncharted: The Lost Legacy $9.99 The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition $14.99 Far Cry 5 $14.99
I'm tempted to just grab Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition.
The sale is going on until June 17. In the past, I've made the mistake of waiting too long and witness the bastards pull the sale BEFORE the official sale end date. So, I should probably pony up and get it before that happens again.

So, Dead Island (a zombie apocalypse game) is similar to Dying Light (a zombie apocalypse game). Dead Island came first. Both made by essentially the same people. Funny quote on a message board about the two games:
Dying Light - you can jump over anything Dead Island - if there's a small barrel in front of you, you have to find another way
Anyway, Dying Light is supposedly an improvement over Dead Island in almost every way.

I will probably get Dying Light but I just don't know when I'll be able to play it with my busy (all of a sudden!) schedule.
