Really sets things up for Gulf Shores. Lets hope the NCAA match is settled by the best team winning, not by playing around injuries (although that is part of any sport) or controlled by the weather. USC had their armor dented, but they're still the team to beat. Hopefully Joy will return from her illness, and the UCLA 1's are at full strength. I warned about the Bruins all week, they played with more intensity and desire than the Trojans in that first match. Lets see who has the motivation next weekend.

Statbroadcast has Kathryn Plummer paired with "Sadie Gray". They won their first set.

And if it were really pure double-elimination, USC and UCLA should play again to see who loses twice.

Stanford's Gray & Plummer upset UCLA's Tan & Yeomans (in three sets) to move on to the semifinals. I don't know if you'd really call that an upset, as Tan and Yeomans were originally seeded 8th, but had to fill in the two seed for the McNamara's who are sitting out of the pairs tournament. UCLA's 3's then took the 8 seed. Plummer and Gray are the 7th seed (higher than Tan and Yeomans)
