I like over 6, more than Austin. I'm taking the under for the men, the only vulnerable team in the MD for me, is Kevin & Olson. In Austin, the Loomis/Trmablie was a bad 5th seed. They both have better fitting partners this week. there will be at max 2 wins by a Q team on the men's side. On the Women's side, I could see 6-8. The top 2 teams should finish no worse than 7th. Seeds 8-11 are very vulnerable, and a couple seeded better have dropped matches already this year.

JB Southpaw I'm counting both genders as one number in my guess.. I was too, but with Pavan/Carico in the qualifier, there could be a ton on that side as well. In a 5 match series, I would take Sarah/Lane over Summer/Brooke, maybe not this weekend though

Looking at bvbinfo, what's the deal with Claes/Hughes (un)seed. Just error?

She did make the Olympics which isn't really a easy thing to do even if the only finished 17ths for 2 years straight that's still decent I guess. And they have a 4th and second this year with some good wins.

I might take her over Lane depending on the partner, and of course Summer did exactly that, but Pavan is a much better player than Summer, thats where I see the real difference in that team. Also Brooke against a big block?

Put a 30 year old Kerri Walsh and Brooke in a 40 and I think Kerri beats her by ten yards at least. Brooke has an ok jump, but nothing close to a player like Ludwig or Masakayan. Hand/eye coordination I'll give you and I don't ordinarily think of that when I think of athleticism, although of course you are right it is. Motor is a lot about will so I don't count that as athleticism either. Its sort of a new term coined by people that dont want to offend athletes but its largely the same as determination. Brain and determination is what Brooke really has. She has the will to get dug 3 times, dig back the 4th and get the ball down, something most more talented players don't have. I admire what she has done and the fact that she made the Olympics, even with all the 25ths involved, is astounding, but if you made a list, not counting height, of the top 10 most athletic players on the AVP, I am not sure Brooke would be on it.

I'd take the bet on race w Kerri. Brooke wins easily. You are giving Kerri too much credit. Kerri moves well for a tall woman, but Brooke outclasses her. I guess we are going to agree to disagree.
