And now, 7-12 for the Americans. I can only say at least they still have a chance in the Round of 12.

Has Switzerland always been a top 4 country? When did they become so young? They look to have a brighter future than Germany and that really says something.

Not sure Swiss are a top 4 country 1) Brazil 2) Germany 3) US - Here for depth 4) Canada I think they were last year when they had two teams that could win (Isa/Anouk and Joana/Nadine) but they turned those two into one spectacular team with a glaring weakness. I think Joana/Anouk have a great future and they have had some tough draws this year, but I think both of last year's Swiss teams were better than they are right now. I thought they won 21-10 against the Czechs earlier today but when I watched it they just got killed and also looked like they were very hostile at points. Nadine is maybe the 2nd or 3rd best blocker out there and it has to frustrate her how often she forces weak shots and Anouk doesn't get there.

Round of 12 are up:
April/Lauren to battle Swiss girls Anouk and Joana. If they win, they'll face Laura and Kira in the quarterfinals.
For Summer Sweat, they have Hermanova and Slukova. If they win, they have Agatha and Duda in the quarterfinals.

Not saying this was intentional because it does seem like Laura/Kira have had Larissa/Talita's number for a while, but Brazil got both of their teams on the side of the bracket that does not have the two best non-Brazilian teams in the world. I hope Pavan/HP v LL/Kira happens

Ross/Fendrick taking a beating from the Swiss girls. April has to see that Lauren just can't keep her end up at this level. Also April's defense still looks poor. I think she would be better split blocking, it feels like when teams get used to her, they start taking advantage of her weaknesses
