Last complaint about Dain, but he is such a f'n hack. Three matches in ten hours? And the first two blowouts? Yes lets analyze if L/T can come back after playing for 25 minutes six hours ago. I'm starting to like the British guy though
Oh and lets watch an entire match decided by one player passing poorly, without once mentioning how poorly that player is passing then lets do repeatedly talk about how great the chemistry on Canada is while the players are getting pissed at each other in the end of game 2.

Larissa and Talita are definitely tired. Their third match of the day.

Larissa and Talita are definitely tired. Their third match of the day. They just seem worn out. I wonder if there isnt something with the lights and where they are. Two left side players who normally pass well (Talita and MHP) have passed awfully. Hasn't seemed to have much effect on Agatha

Kerri, Misty, Larissa the 3 best ever.. Everyone has a pick for GOAT, don't think anyone here is swaying another posters opinion. Spot on about Phil v Karch, Karch played with the best, smart man.

Looks like it'll be bronze medal match between Larissa and Talita vs Sarah and Melissa. Just like how it was three weeks ago in Vienna.
But... who will win this time?

Can't believe how bad these semis have been. If Duda/Agatha win the final, I may never get to see Duda/Larissa

German team is so good. They were just flat out better than Canada, and had Canada trying to play their game. Really fun team to watch with how fast they play.

I really want to see Agatha and Duda deny Germans the gold. Would love to see Germans beat them 21-12 both games also.

Should be a fun final. I give the edge to the Germans but do not really care who wins.

Larissa will never be held in the same regard as Misty, for that single reason - Misty played big in the biggest events, Larissa did (and does) not. Larissa, for all of her great accomplishments (she'll step directly into the Hall of Fame when she retires, deservedly so), is kind of the Queen of Bronze. The Olympic thing is unfair and Larissa is the only one that seems to get tagged with it. Larissa played two Olympics in her prime. (In 2008, she had to pick up an injury replacement at the last minute so I don't count that) She lost once to a weaker team. (Bronze medal matches don't count) Emmanuel, played in 5 Olympics with better partners than Larissa and only got one gold? Why doesn't he face the same criticisms? He lost to weaker teams in all 4 of his losses and two of those losses were awful. Phil played in 3 and performed very poorly in 2. Did Misty play big or did she just play with Kerri? In 2004 they were never challenged and playing with Kerri was akin to having a Pterodactyl on your team, see Rachel's two career wins. In 2008 and 2012, if Larissa were playing with Kerri and Misty were consigned to an injury replacement and Juliana don't you think Larissa/Walsh have two golds? I think Larissa v Misty is very similar to Karch v Phil. Phil didn't win close to the percentage that Karch did, but Karch spent half his prime playing with the no. 1 or 2 players in the world (Steffes and Sinjin), whereas Phil played maybe 2-3 years with a top 5 partner. Phil did not perform "very poorly" in the last Olympics. They won their pool and advanced to the semis where they lost a crazy match in the wind against the #1 seed and eventual Gold Medalist. They shouldn't have even played them until the finals. 5th was a disappointment, but Phil did not perform poorly and in the prior Olympics his partner was injured....

Phil and Nick topped their pool in the Olympics. It was just an unfortunate draw. Had they won instead, Alison and Bruno would have take a 5th and Phil and Nick would have had a shot at one of the medals.

Precisely the point. Misty has six golds from WC/OG. Larissa has one (2011 WC). When everyone is out of their comfort zone, Misty performed time and time again. Every discussion of who the GOAT is - May, Walsh, Larissa, Michael Jordan, LeBron, Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Serena, Federer and so on - always boils down to who won the biggest, most pressure packed events. Sam Jones fan are you? Is Tony Parker better than Lebron? Is Duncan? Kobe? Mike Dodd won 5 Manhattans, was he better than Sinjin? Better than Randy? Better than Steffes? Also I am not saying Larissa is the GOAT, Kerri is by a mile I've never found that a compelling argument, to say the least. Sam Jones wasn't tasked with carrying his team, Bill Russell was (which is why Russ is always in the conversation). Same with Parker - or Ginobli, Horry, Kerr and other guys who collected rings but were never asked to be "The Man." Larissa v. Misty is an interesting discussion, but it's a short one. Along with her 100-something wins, Misty was a Big Game Hunter. Larissa? Playing for bronze...again.
