She is now. Still some 'big names missing though. Are 4* events this year a low priority with so many FIVB tournaments organised? Heidrich/Verge-Depre had the tournament listed on their event calendar, but it has now been dropped. No Pavan/Paredes, Sude/Laboureur, Ludwig/Walkenhorst etc...

Yep, Lauren playing with Karissa Cook now. I believe the reason why the big big teams are not in this tournament is because it’s too early in the year. This would have greatly shortened their offseason. 4* events later in the season, in between the mix with the 5* events will probably have more teams in them as they are already training then. Pavan is probably still playing indoor volleyball in Italy. If you recall, she didn’t play in Ft. Lauderdale either in Feb. earlier this year.

Wonder why Brandie isnt trying to use this as an opportunity to play with MHP?
Who is the second best team here? Obviously Duda/Agatha are the favorite, but its wide open after that

Obviously Duda/Agatha are the favorite, but its wide open after that I'll go for Hermannova & Slukova for the silver medal then. They put in some really good performances last year. An exciting duo to watch too.

3 USA women’s team in country quota, including April Ross and Alix Klineman. Someone really needs to explain the seeding system to us... they have more technical and entry seeding points than a few teams who are not given a WIldcard, yet those teams are in the main draw...

So, these are the entry points of the teams in the CQ. Flint/Larsen 1060 Hochevar/Day 1390 Klineman/Ross 1270 It would appear that Hochevar/Day get the winner of Klineman/Ross vs. Flint/Larsen

Someone really needs to explain the seeding system to us... they have more technical and entry seeding points than a few teams who are not given a WIldcard, yet those teams are in the main draw... First, only 4 teams from a given country are allowed into the tournament, Main Draw and Qualification combined (unless a Wildcard is granted). A limit of 3 teams from each country are allowed automatic entry into the main draw. The rest go into the Qualification bracket regardless of points. Since 3 teams from USA received automatic entry into the Main Draw, the remaining teams must play country quota matches for the fourth and final spot (which would be in the Qualifier Bracket). Teams can get into the Main Draw with fewer points because of the 3 teams per country limit for automatic bids. Brazil often faces the same thing. This is also how a team who has to play in the Qualification Bracket could end up a top seed once the Main Draw pools are announced.

Flint and Larsen are barely FIVB material & Day & Brit think they are better than they really are. Day needed to make the switch...

Its a nuisance for April but for Alix its probably lucky that she gets a chance to get over her nerves against Flint/Larsen rather than Brit/Em, who sent Kerri/Nicole home in a CQ last year and are always tough

Since there are only two Thai teams, they are allowed to be automatically entered into the main draw. But because there are already three USA teams, then the remaining must play country quota and qualification matches to get into the main draw.

I like our top 4 teams heading into 2018. I'd put this depth up against Brazil, and Germany. (No Order) Summer/Brooke April/Alix Kelly/Sarah Day/Britt Unfortunately you can't put them up against the German #1 team, Laura's declared herself out for the season. Not an injury this time, but pregnant.
