Woohoo! You bunch can whine about how the sport’s governing bodies lack integrity and don’t care about fairness for years to come because you are so concerned about providing rights to this individual player. If I were you, I would call Chicken Little to remind him that the sky is falling. Show me in the integrity of this thread where have I acted disrespectfully to you, as you have just been to me? Why can't I question the integrity of a sport governing body, that is mostly male, and that has been systematically oppressing female athletes for decades with legislation that directly governs their bodies and practices? You have made some interesting posts on this thread, but also have frequently resorted to name calling and "muh phd" (a level of education a lot of people on this board possess, myself included) boasting. Congrats, you are more of the same.

I'm getting really tired of the transgender-athlethes-shouldn't-be-able-to-play camp using this phrase throughout this thread, which is just false. Please point out where this is overwhelmingly happening (the only person to use the word "shut" belongs to the aforementioned camp). What's really happening is someone like yourself is making a claim or asking a question, and posters like myself are attacking the assumption (unstated premise) which makes the claim or point of the question irrelevant. Posters like yourself could easily respond by reinforcing your assumption, or attacking the argument made against your assumption. For example, a little Debate 101 for ya: You: What would happen if Lebron James became a woman? Doubletrojan/other posters: That is close to impossible so it isn't worth talking about. You: **WHAT YOU COULD ARGUE is why something is worth discussing, even if it isn't likely to happen. OR why you think it's likely to happen. No one is telling you to shut up. They are telling you 1) your answers are in this thread and 2) your question is irrelevant by attacking an assumption in your claim. I also think it's really annoying you asked a question (on a forum) to (poorly) drive an agenda. Just state what you're trying to say. 'You: What would happen if Lebron James became a woman? Doubletrojan/other posters: That is close to impossible so it isn't worth talking about. You: **WHAT YOU COULD ARGUE is why something is worth discussing, ' It is self-evident that you consider outcomes at the start. Of course there will be more MtF and also better athletes. In the future, lifetime/born women who are at the top may get replaced. Like Fallon Fox (MMA). If there is value to sports, it is pretty tarnished when fairness is lacking. (and do you really want me to cut EVERY time someone tried to essentially say 'shut up'? It's not really worth the time now that people have stopped with all the disingenuous 'My argument is your thought is irrelevant' stuff) 1. When the probability is close to zero, impacts become irrelevant. Debate 101. You haven’t provided any proof there will be a substantial increase of “MtF” athletes. 2. Yes I want you to “cut” to every time someone “essentially [said] shut up.” If you’re gonna use that as the backbone of your argument, you should be prepared to show receipts.

just wait until Russia comes out with a 7'1 transgender woman... then everyone will complain. Not if she meets the standards set forth by the governing bodies and isn't doping.

Quick question to those who know as I don't want to read the entire thread to find the answer.
Is there some sort of protocol that a trasngender individual has to go through to prove they are far enough in their transition to play the womens game? Like testostorone levels, etc?

The person has to have completed at least 1 year of medically supervised hormone therapy, I think.

I am not sure I understand your question. The hormone therapy causes decreased muscle mass and bone density, and increases in and redistribution of fat. Tendons are affected, and alter hip alignment. Many, many other effects occur.

So if NBA players did hormone therapy for one year they would be equal to WNBA players?

Also, there is a wide range of NBA and WNBA players, so what does "equal" even mean in this scenario.

I guess that in Tifanny's case, as she did what no other Superliga player has done, we can call the following "Anecdotal evidence": "Tifanny Abreu shocked the volleyball world this Tuesday by breaking Superliga’s single game scoring record by netting 39 points on Vôlei Bauru‘s 17th round match-up against Dentil Praia Clube/Uberlândia. ... Tifanny’s 39-point-night came at 33/75 (44%) hitting, including 6 blocks. The old record of 37 points belonged to Brazilian national teamer Tandara Caixeta, achieved in 2013. Tifanny’s performance is made even more impressive when taken into consideration she did it against an unbeaten squad with three Olympic gold medalists in it: Fabiana Claudino, Fernanda Garay, and Waleska Menezes." Even other players in the league said her stats are related to getting so many looks. And her team still lost. Hooker hit 60%+ against Bauru last week.
