You can support the LGBT community and even be apart of it and still not believe Tiffany should be able to play women's volleyball. I would question your so-called support, especially since you just made the claim she shouldn't be able to play women's volleyball at all, not just compete. You can also claim you support whoever you want, but if trans individuals don't feel your actions are supportive, then your discourse is spineless.

UPDATE: Some current players, including Tandara Caixeta and Sheila Castro, have expressed that they think Tifanny shouldn't be allowed to play. In addition, the Brazilian doctor that cleared her for playing has stated that although he was following rules, he doesn't think that it is fair for Tifanny to play with cis-women, since she has "clear physical advantages" on them.... plus a bunch of other quotes from other Brazilians involved in the discussion: volleymob.com/players-react-to-tifannys-record-setting-performance-in-brazil/

Calling actual women "cis-women" is dumb.

Calling actual women "cis-women" is dumb. Why? It's accurate ('cis' literally means "on the same side of" i.e. gender and sex are the same) and distinguishes between trans and non-trans individuals. Actually curious to hear how you have an issue with this.

I’ve met many LGB people over the years who wish the T wasn’t part of their acronym. Heck, I’ve met plenty of LG people who treat Bs poorly or deny their existence, and think the B shouldn’t be part of the acronym. Just being gay doesn’t mean you’re not transphobic, sadly.

Calling actual women "cis-women" is dumb. When speaking in normative terms, or when previous information is known by the interlocutor, it is obvious that these prefixes can be left out....which is obviously not the case here, as I was trying to differentiate between two different categories When someone calculates force on a horizontal plane, we dont use f=masinx because the sine of the angle will always be one....when we are calculating sides of a right triangle, we dont use 2bccosx because that also comes out to one... or perhaps in an example more suited to this case...geometric isomeris (cis-trans) is not to be used when organic compounds have proper names or when the two geometric forms interconvert So leave your political agenda out of this and refrain from %*$#posting

So do you also have issue with the term "heterosexual?" Do you have an issue with it just because the norm hasn't needed a label historically because it has been a privileged assumption?

We’re talking about two types of women. Trans women and the rest. It’s not appropriate to call ciswomen “women” (implying that trans women are not), or worse, to call them “normal” or “real” or “regular” women.
Cis isn’t an insult. It’s a descriptor.
But I think you know that and are just trolling.

Completely agree. And then when you enter race and socioeconomic background into the equation and those intersectionalities form, you're able to easily identify the more privileged groups who don't recognize their privilege. Internally, I definitely think there's room for improvement in terms of representation, humility and empathy within the LGBT+ community.

Tiffany broke the record of points in the Superliga the other day with 39. Last night Tandara tied that record as she scored 39 points. Attack: 36 (36/70 51%) Block: 2 Ace: 1
Hooker 24 points (20/52 38%), Newcombe 5 points (3/20 15%).

I mean a woman with (presumably) XX chromosomes is at too much of a disadvantage against a trans woman to put up equal numbers and hit for a higher percentage!
