OK, I'm a totally newbie here so bear with me.
I understand that most teams qualify for the "real tournament" through the qualifiers. What about the at-larges? How many are there and are there any exemptions due to past performance?
I tried googling it and didn't find a coherent explanation.

Extra bids become available ("at-large bids") when qualifiers don't meet minimum entry numbers to award all of their bids. Also, at those national qualifiers, teams must finish in the top 8 to get a bid. So if the top 8 finishers are all teams who previously qualified, they are awarded as 'At Large' bids at the end of the qualifying season. This year, there are 3 At Large bids available for the 18 Open division. They are awarded based on this season's results. There is no official formula, but these are the major components: • Finishes at national qualifying tournaments • Results against qualified teams • Results against other teams under consideration for at large bids

You think they would deny a team like Drive Nation; because they are new? That would be wrong, especially with what they have done against the field. I hope not but I’ve watched this for a long time and things that matter are: * finishes at NQs * Record against the field (most say wins against the field) * Record or wins against other at large candidates Big Intangible: * Hotel Rooms purchased It will be interesting to watch

Al Large predictions: Athena Metro Drive Nation Drive Nation, Metro, Rage (or Athena, flip a coin). But I’ll take Rage because of their body of work over the years.

Does Drive Nation have teams in any other age group that will qualify for Nationals (open or otherwise)? Where does that club go once O'Neal and the talent she brought with her graduate?

There will be talent coming to Drive Nation. Many top teams in the area are interested in Drive Nation due to the coaching staff and the incredible facility. There will be a lot of movement in the North Texas Region due to Drive Nation. Does Drive Nation have teams in any other age group that will qualify for Nationals (open or otherwise)? There will be a lot of movement in the North Texas Region due to Drive Nation. I've heard that the facility is great. They also have a great automated Volleytalk posting system.
