I'll continue updating the OP when I have the time to spare. I'm not a subscriber to RichKern or PrepVB or anything in the club world so I don't really have the time/info to follow recruits and news too heavily. Please feel free to contribute if you see something and I'll put it in!
We've had quite the exciting offseason so far with the outgoing transfer news of Claire Sheehan (OH-Minn bound) and the incoming transfer of Griere Hughes (OH-ASU) so it was definitely past time to get some sort of thread up to keep up to date with the program news.

Thanks so much for getting this started, Hawk Attack!! Great intro with the well-wishes to those who left the program this past year. Agree that all of you have been appreciated!!
Couple of adds: - Another 2019 recruit is Emma Lowes, L, Dallas Skyline Juniors 17 Royal - Club info for 2020 recruit Leanne Lowry : Colorado Momentum 18 Staci
2018 should be an exciting year! Will be interesting to see how things shake out, most notably which first-year MBs mature the most quickly. And I am still quite intrigued as to how things will look in the spring with no MBs on the roster. Also, hoping to see something "official" about the Griere Hughes transfer showing up somewhere.
GO HAWKS!

Love the Hughes vid!! Bring those ups and that killer line shot to IC!! Grunkemeyer's club is Nebraska Elite (same as Sarah Wing). Not much info on specific teams on site but her college commitment to Iowa (and Wing's) listed on home page here: www.nebraskaelite.org/club-volleyball/coaches/

GO HAWKS! Perfect, thank you for the club info for Lowry! For whatever reason I cannot figure out anything about Grunkemeyer aside from her high school ball. There were several articles stating she was giving up other high school athletics to pursue volleyball year round but I couldn't find what club she plays for! The Griere Hughes transfer is very exciting, I found this video of her from a Munci practice last March (only posting because it's fun to see her bounce): Interestingly, I remember recently seeing on another thread that Hughes was a "free agent" for Munci that only competed with them at AAU's... but this video was posted back in March of that year so... I don't know what her club history looked like. Either way, excited to have her! She wasn’t that much of a free agent. She practiced with the team the whole year, but only competed at Nationals for various reasons. Also, this video doesn’t do her justice. I thought she played about as good as she could on a struggling ASU team. She could be a very very good player for the Hawkeyes.

As an aside... I really wish Nebraska Elite had better website navigation. I cannot find their rosters anywhere

Last couple years- Iowa volleyball is like the Chicago Bears- all talk in off season about this stud transfer or that stud incoming kid. Do they really have a chance to make an impact? Bond getting out find by Geoff CArlson?? Say it ain’t so, when will Iowa beat one of the Michigan’s? Will Aird and Indiana show Hawkeyes who’s boss?? When will the Hawkeyes have a satisfactory conference season?

Bond getting out find by Geoff CArlson?? Say it ain’t so, when will Iowa beat one of the Michigan’s? Will Aird and Indiana show Hawkeyes who’s boss?? When will the Hawkeyes have a satisfactory conference season? Oh dear... okay how to unpack this one. 1. I think we’ve had a couple of “stud” transfers that have done really well for us... and have been recognized as pretty darn good volleyball players. Keala was All-B1G HM, as was Louis and Olsen. And while I think every Hawkeye has been really excited about having them and appreciated their time with us, I really don’t think any Iowa fan has gone into excessive hyperbole about how game-changing they’re going to be for the program. 2. The transfers typically have an impact because typically they crack into the starting lineup and perform admirably enough in the B1G. As far as the team making an impact, we already have made tremendous progress under Bond. You can peruse the 2017 thread to see records broken, and not too long ago Iowa City was a walk in the park for every opponent... coaches are openly admitting they have to actually scout us now and give us respect. I think that’s plenty impact to be pleased with. 3. Getting out-recruited by Carlson (or anyone) really isn’t a concern of mine. Bond will get the athletes he gets and I will support them. That’s my opinion as a fan. 4. We beat Michigan this past season. We’ve also beaten Purdue, Ohio St., and Illinois over the last two seasons. So we’re at least competing. 5. I hope Aird brings Indiana out of the cellar, that would be exciting for the B1G! I don’t hope they beat us but I hope they get much better. 6. I’m very satisfied with our progress, I hope it continues. 9-11 and 7-13 have been very very satisfactory and progressive seasons. I’m not sure if you’re trying to rain on our parade or what the deal here is... but I think I can speak for Iowa fans in saying the forecast continues to remain sunny

Any insight into her back row play? Looked from her season stats at ASU like she didn't play much in back row. With our loss of Sheehan, it will be very interesting to see who plays six rotations this fall so that's why I'm asking.

Few more pieces of info to complete club info on incoming recruits in your awesome info page, Hawk Attack:
'18 Maddie Hine - Munciana 18 Quora '18 Amiya Jones - Circle City VBC 18 Purple '18 Courtney Buzzerio - Coast 18-1
And Maddie Slagle was last listed with Adrenaline Volleyball Club but am not finding any 18 teams on their site. Hmmm...

Did pretty well in the back row for Munciana too. Definitely capable

Olsen made a huge impact for us on defense, it will be really hard for anyone to take the libero jersey and cover as much ground as she did. Serve receive was shaky from pretty much everyone, I hope that’s a key focus for this offseason. We certainly have the bodies to fill roles in the backcourt, hoping someone breaks through and shows standout improvement during the spring.

(Because I didn’t notice last week...) Iowa summer camps have been posted! I have a lot of little cousins who attend these and have such a fun time meeting the players and working with them

Noticed that DS Ashley Smith, who was only with us for a year after transferring in from Omaha, is no longer listed on the official roster. Best of luck to her whatever is happening there.
Think that has us at 15 on the roster for the fall (8 returners and 7 newcomers). Wouldn't be surprised to see a 16th surface somehow.
