As fans, we’re going to have to owe it to this team to be patient and trust their process is fulfilling and positive. Last night’s loss is definitely sore, but the team needs to move on and so do we.
One match at a time, learning along the way. On to Maryland!

At the pre-match Chalk Talk Bond said that after a three week stretch of the team being beleaguered that finally the team is back to health and some of the girls will get a chance to shake the rust off against Rutgers before the big match against Penn State.
Bond also stated that he thinks if Iowa goes 6-2 to finish out the year they will make the tournament.

Alright, so if you go off of what Bond said a couple of weeks ago, Iowa needs to win out to make the tournament. Iowa's RPI futures currently sits at 85 and predicts a 2-2 record for the final four games. Here are the opponents...
@ Indiana (RPI futures 58) @ Purdue (RPI futures 16) Maryland (RPI futures 83) Ohio State (RPI futures 82)
Winning all four would put Iowa at 18-13. Not sure if they would move up high enough on the RPI to make an at-large. They absolutely have to beat Purdue to have a shot at moving up and I'm not sure they can do that without Hoye in the lineup.
The team has made some definite strides this year and it would be nice to see them make the tourney, but perhaps next year will be the year rather than this year.

After the mid-conference slump I’m not convinced the committee would allow us in even if we win out, however, 2 top 25 wins is nothing to scoff at and it would at least build us some momentum. If anything I think a “First 4 Out” mention would be necessitated and that could also be helpful, as I’m not sure the committee would want to do that to a team two years in a row.
