Isn't height a result of genes in every case?

She's not bad for a kid her height and age. Here's video posted just yesterday. This burns me up. 6-7 kid with very little lateral mobility is a prime candidate to play Right Side in College. So her club coach plays her middle and libero's her out.

You’ve got 5’8-5’10 girls with decent(ish) ball control who need a spot on the pins because they don’t want to be converted to liberos as 15’s... with parents who will complain if their daughter is bumped down to the 2’s team for a tall girl with inferior 1st contact skills because she hasn’t been trained yet. Clubs are a business, and putting together teams is a puzzle. How do you keep the most amount of people happy while keeping the best volleyball talent at the top?

Isn't height a result of genes in every case? Yes, but not all tall people can play. I meant specifically this kid has a lot more going on than just height.

Her lateral movement will get better. She’s in 8th grade. I’ve heard Jamie is a good coach. He’s been around awhile.

I honestly don’t think her lateral mobility is bad at all for an eight grader.

Watched her play a couple times this weekend and she is better than i would have guessed at her age, hit a couple slides that were really nice and moved well.
