I'd like to know what this alleged Culture of Yutes looks and feels like on USC's campus.

With the current scandal, USC will cough up some $$$$ to make this quietly go away.

I'm wondering what took him so long. Now if he would just go after Amazon.

Well, this is going to be interesting. Best of luck to Mick. Hoping there are a few bucks (x$1,000) for him.

It sounds like Mick has a legitimate complaint. But the USC gynecologist who was fired after YEARS of complaints about inappropriately touching patients (ick!) during exams: "The university drew up a secret deal and Tyndall quietly left with a financial settlement.".... He got PAID to quietly leave after abusing patients. Disgusting.

I doubt USC settles this. For one thing, to do so might taint the legitimacy of their hire and they'll be reluctant to do that to the new coach. It would also taint their SWA and she's not going to agree to that. Also, this is a minor public relations issue compared to the ones involving students being examined and drug abusing Deans. Lastly, Mick filed for arbitration, and not as a civil lawsuit, which is not the preferred venue for bringing attention to the allegations, or for obtaining a large verdict or settlement.

Well, any replacement for Mick no matter when it was gonna happen, was gonna be someone younger. Duh. No way they would ever replace Mick with someone 75 years or older.

Great. I hope Mick gets a ton of money and then goes and becomes a volunteer assistant somewhere that kicks some butt. This was a dispicable move by USC

arbitration proceedings like these aren't usually supposed to be public. I have a hard time believing that there wouldn't be a confidentiality clause in the mandatory ADR of his contract.

This is a lawsuit. He wants money. USC has totally mismanaged many of its employees who have done terrible things. Mick was hired to win games and he was a very successful coach. He did nothing wrong. The article specifically says it's arbitration, which, is not uncommon for employment contracts.

Please sit down.

I have no knowledge about the specifics of this case but I think a larger argument about "age discrimination" should be had in these types of cases. Perhaps my youth is showing but honestly, shouldn't it be expected? I mean, I think it's one thing if he was winning national championships every other year like Penn State or built a volleyball environment that was the envy of every program in the country like Nebraska, but he's not. I don't think Mick was unsuccessful, but the last few years of his tenure was riddled with transfers and disappointing seasons. Is it really all that wrong for the administration to want new blood, even if that comes in the form of age?
