I’m still waiting to see what Kamalei can do! She really showed some flashes of dominance at the net blocking. Wanna see her play a full match. Doubt we’ll get to see that anytime soon. Too bad she'll lose a year not having gotten a shot this year. Redshirt?

Andrew has been playing volleyball for only a few years. Might be coming in touching 10’5. The only other wahine that did that as freshmen are Kim Willoughby, and Jamie Houston ( maybe Amber Kaufman and Igiede). I hope Andrew commits because I am very excited to see what coach Ljungqvist and coach RAM could do with a player with such high upside. Do not sleep on her. She may look raw, but her span is incredible. And if they get her to play both basketball and volleyball, she will be a quick yes. She is a quick study. The added plus is that if she plays both it will be a "free" player because she would be on a basketball scholarship.

Is there a chance any of the beach vb players would want to cross over to indoor? I know Julia Scoles is highly highly unlikely, but don't know about the others.
(And before any of you say it, yes, I know about the beach-->indoor restriction for scholarship athletes. Nothing a little paperwork can't fix.)

If she’s good enough and says both or nothing, I’m sure beeman will, but she doesn’t like her players loosing time because of volleyball as the seasons coincide

Danielson would be a nice pick up as a libero. Still find it interesting she didn't sign with Temple. Not sure what her plans are, but she'd probably one of the top 3 volleyball IQ and savvy players coming out of Hawaii in this senior class with Oglivie and Keonilei being the first two. I mean, I know the Star Advertiser had Keonilei as #1, but yenno lol.

So if the beach player is on scholarship, then the indoor team would have to want to switch over their scholarship. Who on the beach team would be good enough to contribute on the indoor team right away? (Other than Scoles. Morgan Martin maybe?)
If it's a walk on, they can play indoor after their 2nd year on the beach team. But there are probably very few beach walk-ons who could see any sort of playing time or make the team if they are indoor.

She has come to a few camps, and it seems like it is her dream to play for the Rainbow Wahine. I believe during the last camp she came with one of her club teammates who was a setter (?) as well. Also, I found this on a potential 2021 recruit (I don't know if she was mentioned before), Dallas Directo. She's another player from Texas, so I wonder if she knows Mia Johnson as well. www.fieldlevel.com/app/commitments/dallas.directo/volleyballwomen

I don’t know about Directo. If you read the FieldLevel article, she have been followed by like 17 D3 and 14 NAIA schools. Got to be some kind of mistake.
Her highlights are so underwhelming, it made me scratch my head and question the legitimacy of the article.
UH is a top 20 level team. We don’t need to go after kids that is more D3 type.
She either is a walk on or going to Hilo.

Agreed, I'm not sure if they mistakingly cited the University of Hawaii with the program at Hilo or not. I mean maybe she could potentially be a walk-on, but her highlights don't look that promising.

Sheriff, on the other hand, could be somebody who could develop(like Skyler Williams). Still only a Sophomore in HS but is already 6-2, has a nice arm swing and looks pretty agile and mobile.

I wonder if they’re related?

Just saw a reply from the Selection Show Wahine reaction tweet that there might be a Outside hitter from Detroit that's interested in Hawaii in '21? Hmmm...

During the post game show vs USD, it was mentioned that Hawaii beat Texas for Anna Kiraly. She seems like a big deal even though I don't like some of her recent play
