During the post game show vs USD, it was mentioned that Hawaii beat Texas for Anna Kiraly. She seems like a big deal even though I don't like some of her recent play I caught that too. Any time we can beat Texas for a recruit, that's a great thing!

With Hawaii making into the sweet 16 and UH getting some national recognition, I hope it will help UH land some big time setter. There have got to be somebody out there that would die at a chance to set this team next season. UH will have all of their firepower back for next season and will be adding some new faces and should be just as good.
Is Ashley Shook looking for a new home for one year???

What's the likelihood that our transfer setter -- if our last scholarship will indeed be offered to a setter -- is someone we've already seen within the past two years, i.e., Hawaii opponent?

I’m still hoping that Saige will set her last year at Hawaii, maybe not next year since Utah has been doing well in the NCAA tournament with her as setter, plus did pretty well considering their conference. But would be nice for her to come home for her last year like Bailey did, and she’s a good player, blocks well..

Bailey getting her undergrad degree in just 3 years helped us land her so that she could work on Masters here.

I recall when Saige decommited from her first school, people on this board said she was not a good fit for Hawaii. I'm curious, what is different now than a year or so ago?

I believe it's just certain posters reaching for transfers. If you look about a month back there's couple posters that were just naming random players that they thought would be good to transfer to Hawai'i.

I recall when Saige decommited from her first school, people on this board said she was not a good fit for Hawaii. I'm curious, what is different now than a year or so ago? Noreen and Bailey being gone after this season Lol. The deeper we go into these playoffs, the easier it should be to attract an effective setter. Except for Ross and Noreen, we return 3 pins, our middles, and decent passing and defense in Brooke and Riley. With these key returnees and the monster crowd, what setter wouldn't want to play here?
With Kiraly's arrival next year, we will have choke middles. Robyn is increasing Amber's rotations, now having her serve and play back row D. Are there future designs to move Amber to a pin hitter spot? Amber is a quick study, she could probably make the transition. Just spitballing.

If Amber serves the ball to the bottom of the net like she did against San Diego, she's fired.

I highly doubt there is any plan to move Amber out of the middle.
With Hanna, Jolie, Brook, and Riley there is no need to move her out especially with Braelyn and Tiff as options on the outside as well.

I personally have never said anything about saige until a month ago, I like her as a setter. That’s just my personal opinion and I would like to see her on senior night back at home.
