Will she be extremely elite, or can Sealy still ruin her?

Reply below to a UCLA convo over in the transfer thread where there was some discussion that “Sealy isn’t to blame for mediocre results because Chang was injured” and “UCLA didn’t have ample practice time due to COVID” and it’s “trendy to blame Sealy” for UCLA’s results.
it’s not the first time Sealy’s done little with a lot and UCLA wasn’t setting the world on fire before Chang’s injury. In fact he had just flipped the switch to a 5-1. And UCLA women’s, just like the men, were in the gym all fall under COVID protocol practice so no, it isn’t lack of practice. IMO Sealy’s a crappy coach and if that’s a trendy thought good, it’s the first time in awhile my opinion is trendy. Lol

Kind of breathed new life into the team, but then he left lol...

Lol Yea sorry but your personal opinion doesn’t mean much if it doesn’t equal anything factual. Lol i know how much VT posters assume that when they feel some type of way about something and a few others piggyback on it, that’s enough validation for them to believe what they are saying is fact rather than personal opinion. I see a UCLA team on the up and up, maybe you’re in the camp of UCLA needs to go 30-0 every season and consistently in the final four but that’s not an opinion based in any reality.

I didn't realize she had committed to UCLA, but MB recruit Francesca Alupei (Romania) played in the a European Cup Competition today. (Lauren Carlini, Madison Kingdon, Daly Santana played in the competition and were beaten by the team Alupei is playing)
She plays, starting in set 3.

(Im not sure how that works with the NCAA, she might not have a professional contract?). Cal has a commitment from a setter from the top Swiss team.

In the U18 World Championship in 2019 she was #1 in blocks per set (ahead of Devyn Robinson) and #3 in aces per set.

I'll have to go check to see who else is coming. The Swiss Cal setter is very good as well.

so she plays for a professional team? Yes. (Im not sure how that works with the NCAA, she might not have a professional contract?). Cal has a commitment from a setter from the top Swiss team. This seems kinda of like cheating. I understand these players are good young players, but I think if you are trying to protect Amateurism in collegiate sports, you don't allow foreigners who play on professional teams.

Right so how are you playing for a professional team if you don’t have a professional contract? In this particular case, her club has a relationship with the Romanian volleyball federation. Their best youth prospects join the club through an "Academy Project"
