I feel like BC runs a really fast offence and UNC needs to be ready for that. BC coach has been interviewed frequently about his offence and his strategy and speed one of the top things on his list.

As a coach, I would not start Wine in the back row. Her passing numbers are much lower than Austin's. If you do not put her in back row but want her front row, then you have to start with a DS in the back row and then a DS for Harrison as well also for the RS and S in a 6-2. That is 4 subs used quickly. You will run out of subs if not careful. Austin, or whoever the LS may be, has more than just one job...it is not just putting a ball away. It is hitting, blocking, passing, and receiving and Austin has better numbers in all areas except hitting the past few matches. I do agree that Skylar has been effective and Parker has struggled as of late, but also using Skylar on the left limits coach from bringing her in on the RS where she can play if we have an issue there with Cox or Peck. Skylar and Austin both have positives, but if the point is growth and team chemistry, leave your freshmen player in unless things are going off the tracks. Then sure, use your bench. Just my opinion.
BC does run fast. He deliberately took that model with him from USC. Speed can thwart a big block, but you have to have good passes to run the offense. If UNC serves strong, that limits the Eagles ability to run fast. Also, if you set low and fast and you have good solo blockers as UNC does, you will get blocked out of the gym.

Not sure what numbers you are comparing... Austin is the only pin who has consistently played back row. Agree pins need to be able to pass, receive and block but their primary responsibility is to put points on the board. Not sure others couldn't do as well or better passing and receiving, we don't know that because generally speaking we've only seen what one pin can do in the back row. Comparing the matches Austin and Wine both played this season, Louisville, NC State, Pitt and VA, WIne's averaged hitting % is .381, Austin .146. Wine blocks better. You must also give Wine credit for being a seasoned player, she has played at the collegiate level longer. Based upon the numbers the better ACC teams have seemed to prove challenging for Austin, this will improve as she grows into her game. With time no doubt Austin will be a standout, she's not there yet. We don't know what Harrison or Wine can do as a six rotation player. But...if Segula stays true to form he will start the same lineup get the same result. BC is beatable with the right UNC lineup, if it's the same as usual look to lose the first and maybe win the second IF Segula decides to adjust to win.

I just know its good to finally have depth and options again. I do wonder what happens if Wine starts and struggles, then you pull her for Austin and she struggles....then you have two cold hands and no one else that can come in except LaGarde who has not played this year....you do not want that to happen. In the NCSU match, Parker was pulled for Wine, then Joe went back to Austin in the fifth and she shined on defense and offense. So they have been somewhat interchangeable.
Syracuse is up first. They run some weird offense with a 4-2 at one point (setter sets back row, attacks front) and even dome combo plays with Shemanova in the back row. Syracuse has some scrappy defense, but their middles do not block well or attack well. We need to feed our middles Friday night. I expect Skyy and Aristea may put up season high numbers if we pass well. Defensively we either need to contain Shemanova or we need to contain everyone else and make Shamanova do everything. Syracuse almost took the first set from FSU then were up by 8 in the second until FSU went on a 17-7 run to end it. Against Miami, it was very much a sporadic match with Syracuse losing sets 25-12, 32-30, and 25-19. They have good pieces but are definitely no where near as good without Ebongwese and Trotter.

What did Coach do? If there is a link or tweet that's supposed to be there I don't see it.

What did Coach do? If there is a link or tweet that's supposed to be there I don't see it. Cunningham posted a pic of Joe and the team saying "congrats to coach Sagula on being named to the NC Volleyball HOF. award will be given prior to BC match on Sunday." Seems he took it down.

I'm really glad we have the BC match at home. Even when really good, it seemed like UNC always struggled with BC at their place. Same with Georgia Tech. I am very glad we are not traveling to either this year.

Yes agreed. even in 2014 we were down 0-2 at GA Tech...the famous match Sagula threw a major fit and broke a clipboard in the floor LOL then in 2016 we went 5 and won it 21 to 19 at BC....Both of thsoe teams look pretty solid.
I do hope we do not overlook Syracuse trying to get to BC Sunday. All they need is one other hitter to get hot while Shemanova is also producing. But the orange have a not so good serve receive and blocking game.
BC is either going to cause our defense to scramble with their fast sets or they are going to get the brakes blocked out of them. Key against BC is keeping them OOS to eliminate the middle and fast outside sets.
Both are winnable.

I didn't break anything, but I'm pretty sure I screamed a thing or two at my phone during both of those matches.
I think after the past two seasons this team cannot afford to take any team for granted. I hope they also remember that every team (except Wake) that's left on their schedule beat them last year. I am confident in this team's ability to stay composed and focused on winning.

Wish I could find the GIPHY of it but I cant locate it!
Yes, and the teams that beat us, were normally by only a few points. Against Syracuse, 2 out of 3 sets was by 3 or less points. BC was also less than 3 points except the last set when we crumbled. We beat Duke once and WF last year. GA Tech was a 15-13 loss in 5 at their place. If I ranked our remaining matches it would be:
FSU (Away) BC (Home) GA Tech (Home) Duke (Away) Syracuse (Home) Clemson (Home) Duke (Home) VA Tech (away) Wake (Away) Wake (home)
Realistically, I see us going 8-2 in remaining matches....that would be ACC record of 13-5, Overall: 16-12 I could see us going 9-1 and only blemish being FSU.....ACC Record of 14-4, Overall: 17-11 If we went undefeated,ACC redord of 15-3., Overall 18-10
Any of those records would be much improved after a 1-7 start... and 3-15 in the ACC last year.

That GA Tech match was one of the more frustrating losses for me to watch last year because we almost had them. We played well enough to win, but we weren't at a point where we could close the deal.
I would really love it if we could finish the rest of the schedule undefeated because not only would it increase our chances of a possible at-large, but my preseason prediction on our record would come true. I figured we would lose ten matches this year, but not so many to start. But I'm glad that we're trending in the right direction. I nearly forgot we started 1-7. It seems like two different seasons this year.
But next up is Syracuse. Fun fact, but Syracuse has never taken a set at our place. All four previous match ups have been 3-0 sweeps.
