On Sandcast today, they explained that the top 3 teams of the USA can basically get in World Champs with no issues. The rest can get in through the confederation route. They must play at least one NORCECA tour stop, thus all the teams playing on a Wednesday to qualify to play in a NORCECA. So unlike the men, five of the top six women’s teams all think they can finish in the top three and so they’re not even bothering to play NORCECA?

Does Sponcil have UCLA playing duties? As for Larsen/Stockman and ATeam, I’ve got no idea.

It shouldn’t take a math major to figure out how to maximize your chances of making the Olympics, but Emily Day seems to have her team on the right track.

On the Sandcast today, they said FIVB made it a new rule that the teams trying to go through the confederation route are required to play in minimum one event to qualify. But the on the Hamburg World Champs website, it says the confederation sends the top 4 teams based on their team rankings. If they only play one event, how do they collect points?

And how weak of Gibb to not enter this, even if you don't need points, you're down the street, play.

Pretty good event for all 3 medalists. Other than Tri/Trevor, who finished where I would have expected or given 50/50 odds on, both teams finished much higher than previous results would have indicated. Casey/Chase may be in the 4-6 mix after all

Reid and Theo really snatched that one from the jaws of victory. 20-17 for the match in Game 2 plus maybe 4 more match points. Casey/Chase miss 4 or 5 serves in a game to 15 and they lose it 15-11? This was a walkover but Reid's teams continue to have these end of game/match issues I thought Chase played really well in the 3rd. Having no problem with Theo's block. Woah Freeze Priddy continues his reign.
