Great finish for the Dutch. I had them confused with Kaizer/Meppelink for most of this event. They beat some very good players (April/Alix/Talita/Chantal) and almost beat Canada. Lot to build on for that team. I like their quirky low sets too

I know it’s Brazil, but so impressive how many fans turn out for an 8 am game not involving any local teams. I don’t understand why Brazil doesn’t host more FIVB events, yet there are three 4 Star events in China where nobody shows up. And Fort Lauderdale always has a good turnout but somehow attendance doesn’t seem to matter on the World Tour.

She’s been around forever and is always consistent. They also had a good run at the KoC as I recall. This team will definitely compete with anyone.

Now USA down 16-18 after having a consistent two point lead after tech timeout. Canada scored 4 consecutive points with a block and April hit out of bounds.
Back from the timeout, April serves 2 aces. 19-18 Canada calls timeout.
Going overtime. USA had two chances to close the set, but April and Alix both unable to make the kill in transition.

It would be nice if both Alix and April's swings stay inside the court.

With a win here, I would say The ATeam should be considered the best team in the world and heavy favorites for the World Champs next month. There are other teams close to them but, they are just a bit better when it’s all on the line.

April's serve is the difference in this match.

It would be nice if both Alix and April's swings stay inside the court. I think their setting has a lot to do with that. It is a bit inconsistent at times and Alix in particular doesn’t seem to do well with bad sets.

Is there anything more predictable than Canada making a play with the potential to turn a game and MHP missing her next serve by 10 feet. Shoot their coach. Also stop digging in on Alix she didnt swing at a ball the whole game. Going 3, this is nerve wracking
