Maybe a tad surprising that Iowa State took the first three sets against Creighton in an exhibition game on Friday. I wasn't able to attend and there was no live video or stats. Curious if any fan was able to go?!

I had a chance to see Kansas new volleyball facility last weekend and a few observations.
The 1400 seat Horejsi Family Athletic Center has been transformed into the 2500 seat Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena. What was the 'small gym' has added 75% more seats in essentially the exact same foot print. It previously had rolled up bleachers with 4 hanging from the ceiling basketball goals - it essentially looked like a HS gym with a volleyball court in the middle. It now is more of an arena with concourses and multiple seating options.
I am guessing the locker rooms and video room have been greatly improved - and the overall addition should be a boost to future recruiting. If the school can generate any kind of student body attendance - this place will provide a great home court advantage - as this remains as a small/intimate setting.

Not being sarcastic here, but did the "old" gym have A/C? I kinda remember people dripping with sweat and fanning themselves. I know K-State is famous for playing in their "field house" with no A/C.

Yes - the old gym did have A/C, and was usually very cold in August/September.

Baylor beat Texas A&M in 4 sets in their exhibition match (25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20).
Baylor didn’t release any info regarding starting lineup or stats but Texas A&M gave updates for their personnel.

Kstater: did you go? if so, what were your thoughts and who looks to fill in the 2nd MB/DS/L/OH2 spots. I just saw the twitter and game 1 was Dixon, Williams, Vernon, Smith (L), Carlson, Mutiri, Weber for game 1 thanks

I know it’s preseason but that seems pretty huge going into next week! Confidence booster for sure because Mizzou is not a bad team.

I just saw the twitter and game 1 was Dixon, Williams, Vernon, Smith (L), Carlson, Mutiri, Weber for game 1 thanks Scott I think Kuck will be the libero. Smith started set 1 and Kuck took over L the rest of the way. I think she is going to be reliable. Good instincts. Carlson and A. Dixon started on the outside. I do not know the status of Heyne but she didn’t play. My guess is that she never recovered from her knee injury in the offseason. Consistency at OH is key and could be a problem A. Dixon struggled and Bonde came in for her in set 4. We subbed a DS for Dixon and Carlson. Hinkle, Smith and Weber all played DS. I do think the back row will be better. That was a big problem last year. Archibong and Vernon split time at MB2.

i listened a bit on the press conf before the game and Suzie did say Heyne is taking out for the season. so yeah OH is going to be thin.

I believe the schools have to be careful on releasing information such as score and stats or else the match could count against their maximum number of games that they can schedule in a season. I also believe they can't charge admission.

Makes sense. But Baylor never listed a player’s name once on social media. A&M gave their lineup and stat leaders after each set so maybe Baylor just wants to be a little more secretive with what personnel they’ll be putting out on the court next week.

Maybe a tad surprising that Iowa State took the first three sets against Creighton in an exhibition game on Friday. I wasn't able to attend and there was no live video or stats. Curious if any fan was able to go?! I went to the match and was very surprised by a few things. In the first 2 matches, Brandt was playing setter and was doing a great job. Hatch was great! I really hope she will be big for us on the outside for the next 4 years. Blocking was a little off to begin with but picked up after the first set. Not many blocks, but great funneling and getting tips to slow it down. Another new face that I like was Michal Schuler. Monster server (a la Caitlyn Mahoney). She will be a fun one to watch too. Rhodes is still getting back into a groove but Holthaus and Cande were a touch better than last year.
