I think you both are a bit off with your tie-breakers.
If the tie can be resolved with head-to-head, it is (i.e. one team beat all other teams in the tie)
If there is a 3-way tie, they WILL break the tie based on set percentage (this is unique to the 6+ team pools at nationals). If set percentage drops the number of tied teams from 3 to 2, they then use head to head between those two.
If three teams are tied in set percentage, then they will actually play it off. Pretty rare, but they won’t eliminate teams based on point percentage.

Being at nationals nine years straight for girls I have yet to see or be involved in a tiebreaker playoff with pools of six or more, but we’ll see. My example when I had a 16-Open team we were 2-3 with two other teams, all beat each other, all had the same game percentage and we took 4th and advanced (top 4 teams at the time) over the two other teams because we were something like .944 and one of the other teams was something like .942...it was crazy!! I do remember when coaching boys at nationals in pools of four there being some type of playoff. I have been involved in multiple tiebreaker playoffs at qualifiers.

Looking at 18s from last year, 2 USA 6 team pools ended up with a 3 way tie for 2nd, Pool 3 and Pool 7, with only the top 3 in pool moving on to the Gold challenge matches. Both pools do not have any playoff sets listed and it was ordered purely on match%, set % and point %. results.advancedeventsystems.com/event/PTAwMDAwMTMzOTY90/divisions/58624/overview

Since about 2001, I don’t think they’ve played off any ties in Open divisions.

Don’t believe we have ever played of in round 1. Subsequent rounds yes.

Pool 4 has all teams 2-2 going into the final match. Winner goes, loser is done. #1 vs. #2, #3 vs. #4, #5 vs. #6. Top Select and Sunshine playing now to see who advances.
#1 seed in Pool 5 TK is 2-2 with #2 Skyline 3-1. I believe if Skyline wins just one set they will advance and TK will be eliminated. If TK sweeps, I think that will eliminate Skyline.
Pool 7 could be interesting. TAV is 3-1 and has the points advantage. They play 2-2 #2 seed Houston Skyline. If TAV loses and Momentous beats MN Select - then I think TAV is done. Houston Skyline has to win and that doesn't automatically get them in.
Pool 8 - 3-1 MAVS have to win to guarantee advancement. If Circle City beats them, they would hold the H2H if just a 2 way tie, but if a 3 way tie Circle City will be in trouble. These tiebreakers are key.

Am I reading this correctly? TIV and MN Select are the only two teams who have not lost a match?
I see Clark isn't with MN Select. Didn't know she went to PSU early. Or did she?

It does look like they changed the tie-breaking procedures from years past (although I don’t see it posted publicly anywhere).
18 National, Pool 2 played off their tie despite having different set percentages.

Top Select (the #4 overall seed) wins just 92% of their points and finishes 2nd in the pool. They move into #3 Challenge in which no team won more points than they lost.
Minnesota Select and Texas Image are the only teams to win all their matches (TIV hasn't lost a set). TAV finished 2nd to MN Select - but TAV has the highest % of points won among the 48 teams. Biggest surprise in terms of initial seedings (and any other normal metric) has to be KC Power winning Pool 4 as a #5 seed.

You are correct on them being the only teams to win all their matches and Clark not on the team. Black Ink liked Minnesota Select with Ashburn and Wolf better than their actual performance during the season.

MN Select and AVC are going to a 3rd set streaming on court 7. The other 3 matches streaming are running more than an hour behind and are getting ready to start.
