Feel comfortable saying Plummer, Rettke, Samedy, Gray, Hentz and Stivrins with stay on the 1st team, barring injury. I could see White, due to being a libero on a young team, and Quade (Without Poulter) dropping off of 1st team. I think Stone, Hilley, and Lilley may be ready to bump up. Lanier, if back healty, and Micaya White returning to 1st Team. I'll also say one, or both, of Jordan Thompson and Allie Barber become 1st teamers. Their numbers could be huge. Barber may have to carry an even bigger load this year. I don't see any of the freshman making 1st team this year. In part due to the circumstances they're entering into. K. White is most vulnerable IMO because she's a libero and Penn State probably won't be as good this year. I also have a hard time seeing how Jordan Thompson gets MORE numbers. Thompson had 7 points per set and hit .333. She gets on higher lists based on how well Cincinnati does as a team, there can be little question about that...Barber surely has room to improve re production. Barber has an extremely limited skill set of just being a LS attacker and she still didn't even put up 5 points per set last year. However, Marquette was a better team than Cincinnati, hence 2nd team for Barber and 3rd team for Thompson.

I don't think Barber makes First Team unless she starts playing 6 rotations. When is the last time a 3-rotation OH made First Team AA? After scanning the list, it looks like Tabi Love from UCLA in 2012 made first team and was a 6'5" 3-rotation outside hitter. The avca obviously favors 6 rotation outsides especially because today there are less 6 rotation outsides than their used to be. That being said I feel that 3 rotation outsides need to put up GREAT numbers to get to that first team status. The top 3 rotation outsides r Barber and Hart so I think those two will be battling for the higher AA status

It's going to be tough for Barber. She would probably need Marquette to match, or exceed, the Sweet 16 finish to get to 1st Team and I don't think that's likely. They lose their two other All-Conference 1st Teamers, and they probably aren't going to get such a soft subregional again (there wasn't another Top 35 Pablo team in their opening rounds. Very tough to do considering they are a non-B1G team in B1G country).

I’d say if she plays FOTY and 1st team could be very possible. But I don’t think she’d play 6 rotations, so prob won’t happen. Id say the top candidates for FOTY are kipp and kubik. However, I think it will be more difficult for kipp to find the floor as much as kubik will on Nebraska so I'm leaning towards kubik I'm not sure.... Perhaps Kubik if she gets on the floor for Nebraska, but Kipp is probably a long shot. I think it's probably a bit more likely to go to a Freshmen on a team that the AVCA still thinks is pretty good but will touch the ball far more. I'm thinking Robinson for Oregon or if Ohio State can turn it around, Gabby Gonzales. Sarah Dixon for Kansas State looked pretty darn good at the USAV tryouts. If they can make their way back to the NCAA tournament on her shoulders, that might not be a bad dark horse bet. We shall see what happens with North Carolina this upcoming year but Lauren Harrison could be a decent pre-season candidate. Here is a another, Savannah Vach, Miami (FL) if she gets the setting job. Creighton will be looking to replace their OH duo of Kloth and Winters but they still should be solid with a few other core returning pieces, RS freshmen Keely Davis could be that OH standout for this team. If Parker stays RS for Penn State, they will need one of those frosh OH's to step up..... RS Freshmen are eligible for this right?

Just 15 of the 42 All-Americans from 2018 were seniors -- the lowest number ever. Only 29 of the HM selections were seniors, too. That means there's a ton of returning talent. So... who is making the move up this season?
Lexi Sun and Brooke Botkin

I do agree that Kipp probably won’t get enough production (or even playing time) to get NFOY. I’m impressed by Gonzales and I def think she’ll get a ton of sets, but I still question her ability to put the ball down in the B1G after a couple of frankly lackluster club seasons.

From Hawai'i, definitely Rassmussen on 1st or 2nd team. I expect a huge season from her. Perhaps Iosia on 3rd or HM if the team is successful and does well this season. Why? It's pretty damn hard for players on a non sweet 16 caliber teams playing in a non P5 conference to be on a 1st or 2nd team AA. For context, Van Winden had over 6 points per set and hit .365 on a Cal Poly team that was better than Hawaii last year and she was just honorable mention.....Jordan Thompson had over 7 points per set and hit .333 on a Marquette team that made the 2nd round of the tournament and she was just 3rd team. And I actually think it was a relatively low competition year for All Americans in 2018. I definitely think they have been snubbed, but Nikki Taylor from Hawai'i in 2015 and 2016 put up worse numbers than both Van Winden and Thompson did this past season and made 2nd team both years. "Definitely" might not have been the right word, but she has a decent shot. It all depends on how well the team does as a whole though.

So, I think it's possible.

Fields, Kipp, and Kubik are my top picks for FOTY I'd lean toward Kubik right now. Not saying that as a homer, but because of opportunity. Kubik will be given the opportunity to play all the way around from the first match of the season. If she holds up in the back row, she will stuff the stat sheet similar to her Spring Match against CSU. There has to be other frosh that will carry a big load though, right. Will need to review tonight.

I think Fields has a great shot at winning the rightside spot but in the last few years top recruits haven't been translating amazing to college in their first year (ex Lexi sun and Thayer hall). ik this obviously doesn't apply to everyone but I feel like Fields is more of a project and will start to shine once she has some experience.

Also my picks for Nebraska to be AA
Lauren Stivrins - should be locked TBH. Just need to work on blocking more, the only way that I don't see her as a First Teamer is if the team is struggling on receive so Hames can't set her a lot.
Nicklin Hames - Definitely can see her in one of the teams. She's going to be one of the leaders of the team and she's definitely more improved than last year.
Lexi Sun - I can see her having a breakout year with better efficiency and backrow play. She definitely is the go to player this year.
Jazz Sweet - Similar to Lexi. The team is going to need her offense and leadership this year. I can see her getting a lot of sets and leading the team with kills.
Madi Kubik - Definitely think she's going to start as the other OH. I think she will have the chance to play all around and if she does well, I can see her winning FOTY. I think Fields and Kipp are more explosive but KIPP has the Inkettes to help her and Fields I think is just going to play front row and need good numbers with her hitting and blocking.
Long Shots:
Callie Schwarzenbach - The blocking is there but gotta work on offense. 1 kill per set is not gonna do it.
Kenzie Knuckles - can be HM if she has a McGraw/Nuneviller year.

From Washington- Bajema and Powell. If the passing holds up, a middle too. If you're talking about Third team or AA HM then yes for Bajema and Powell but the third team is the AA ceiling for these two.
