I don't get it. Poulter is playing well according to most people on here. She seemed really mobile to my eye. Why talk about her damn shape? Why is this even coming up?

People just like to debate, argue and yes, insult on here. That seems to be the VT style.

These are fantastic. Sucks USAV doesn’t do it themselves. In fact, they haven’t even updated 2019 game scores on their website. It’s like the whole website is being run out of someone’s high school English classroom as an after school activity.
Talking about weight re. female athletes is not appropriate because there'll be some confusion about whether the comment is targeting performance or, subconsciously, physical beauty. If someone is doing their job, then the weight issue is not an issue.
Talking about weight re. male athletes is okay because we all know the purpose of those comments is to deliver the cleverest sophomoric insults, e.g., Luc Longley, Will Perdue, Shaq, Charles Barkley. It's okay to insult male athletes because they don't give a rat's ass and it's sport.
You know what the result of not being able to discuss weight is? College coaches simply won’t recruit thicker high school girls because they know that if they get to college and put on a few more pounds, they simply can’t have a conversation about it without risking their job.
I don’t believe that to be true at all. Some coaches are morons who don’t know how to address this issue. Most mature adults do.
So, you are saying that being more fit would not help her be a better athlete? Nutrition is a big deal.
Elite athletes come in all shapes and sizes. An elite swimmer looks very different from an elite softball player, Serena looks different than Kvitova, Griner and Stewart, Larson and Foecke. Nutrition has nothing to do with it, and having a different body type does not preclude that person from being athletic.
Women's bodies are to be celebrated. Poulter is, at the same time, a skinny legend and thicc bih. She's both thintastic and curvalicious. Everyone is. Because all women's bodies are to be celebrated and not shamed because they change or don't meet your expectations.
I had to look up “thicc bih” because I honestly didn’t know. And I wondered if “skinny legend” was some sort of new idiom that has somehow passed me by.
