Check out Ericβs Instagram page. No such hints that his life was in turmoil.
Another perfect example of....You never know what another person is going through. Always be kind.
Volleyball is just a small game in this life we live. Someone lost a Son, brother, Nephew, Cousin, Dear Friend..etc...today.
Rest In Peace Eric...ππππππ

Some of the pieces that are in front of us it's easily to get crazy and maybe speculate a bit but it really doesn't matter at the end of the day and most importantly thoughts and prayers to his friends and family, and I believe he was pretty well liked on the tour off the court.

This is so sad. Itβs true that you never really know what someone is struggling with on the inside. Wow. He was a cool guy and encouraging to upcoming players. RIP and prayers for his family who must be really suffering right now.

So sad to hear this. Condolences to his family and friends but especially to Travis, who had become his friend, travel buddy, teammate, and roommate.

Just heartbreaking news. I attended 3 NVL tournaments and met Eric at tournaments. He recognized me but never knew my name, so he always called me "Big Dog." It was likely his nickname for everyone, but I still thought it was pretty cool. He was a tremendous athlete and seemed like a nice guy who was enjoying life. My thoughts and prayers go out to Eric and to all of those who knew him and met him. Hug all of your loved ones, and take opportunities to show kindness to others because you never know how their days and lives are going.

When I saw him last year at AVP NYC, he said βdonβt smile. Smiling is for the weak.β

Didn't know him very well aside from meeting him and hanging in mutual friend groups over the years, but last year at Waupaca he was on the sidelines part of a 4 man team that eventually won, just talking sh*t and having a blast making so many casual VB fans realize a totally different side of him from what they saw on the AVP live stream or seeing his personality in professional competitor mode.
Such a fun guy to watch play, and truly showed everyone what it meant to drop everything for a short period of time just to make a dream reality. R.I.P.
