For the record: The USSR consisted of the following present-day countries: Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan. These are the countries that confuse me greatly.

Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana. You never hear about them, except T&T. I know those. Guyana is Jonestown. French Guiana is the same thing except the French can't spell "Guyana."

Relatively easy trivia for volleyball fans: 1. Who were the three coaches (head coach, two assistants) for the silver medal-winning USA women's volleyball team at the 1984 Summer Olympics? 2. Who were the starters? (Hint: Here is the roster list from the 1984 squad: Jeanne Beauprey Carolyn Becker Linda Chisholm Rita Crockett Laurie Flachmeier Debbie Green Flo Hyman Rose Magers Kim Ruddins Julie Vollertsen Paula Weishoff Sue Woodstra) Incidentally, I always thought Debbie Brown was a member of this team, but she wasn't. She was a member of the 1980 team for the boycotted 1980 Moscow Olympics. 3. China won the gold medal by beating USA, 3-0. Who was the star of the Chinese National team? Starters were: Flo Rita Rose Weishoff Green Woodstra? Not sure of the 6th

1. It began in 1996 with The Deep End of the Ocean. It ended in 2011 with Great Expectations. What was it?
2. What controversial Halloween-themed confection was originally called “Chicken Feed” when it was invented in the 1880s?
3. The self-proclaimed “Countdown Capital of the World” has a pretty appropriate area code: 321. Name that city.
4. Two U.S. state capitals are named after people who were beheaded. Name one of them.
5. Yesterday wasn’t just Halloween; it was also Día de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead. What small flower—sometimes called the “flower of the dead”—is traditionally used to decorate graves, altars, and ofrendas during this holiday?

Guessing St. Paul for 3 since Saints seem more likely to have been beheaded. Maybe Annapolis? Was Queen Anne beheaded?

So far, candy corn and St. Paul are the only two correct answers -- St. Paul being one of the two correct answers.

So far, candy corn and St. Paul are the only two correct answers -- St. Paul being one of the two correct answers. Raleigh is the other capital. . Obviously places like Madison and Jefferson City were not correct. Columbus was another possibility and Austin died from pneumonia. Also thought about Bismarck (nd) and Pierre (sd).

Marigolds is correct.
Raleigh was correct.
