Could’ve possibly been a different result if JJ Webb played; West passed a 1.9 and really couldn’t do anything offensively. They looked like a completely different team than when they played CMH.

JJ Webb was issued an athletic code violation for using an “inappropriate word” during school hours. Being one of the best Libero’s in the state, JJ Webb was a catalyst in Waukesha West’s success this year. Without Webb, West’s team was left in shambles as their serve receive and defense was a shell of what is used to be. Hats off to the Brookfield East Spartans who played a great game and advance to the State Semi Finals. It is extremely sad and disappointing to see such a promising Waukesha West volleyball team fall apart after a controversial suspension. Webb is an all-around threat and was extremely fun to watch play, very sorry that his season had to end the way it did tonight.

Historic season, great season, unfortunate ending for Waukesha West. They did not look like the same team that competed all year. JJ is a special player, among the best Liberos in the state, should be All State, gotta believe he is first team all conference. A threat from the service line and rock solid in serve receive. Congrats on the season, team and coaches. See you all at state in the years to come. Building a program out West.
Congrats to BEast, Mike Kelly, sophomore, and Michael Szews, senior, posted double doubles.
Garret Mueller, Freshman, and Ryan Reilly, senior, posted double digit digs,
Ryan had 39 assists, Szews had 3 aces, caused West fits in sets 1 and 4 with his serve.
Alex Freedy, senior middle, led he team in kills, 13, hit .667.
Special recognition for Eddie Jaunberzins, senior middle who did not play a lick of volleyball until joining the team as a freshman, played club for Spike, ties the state record for block assists in a 4 set match, 10. Had a solo to boot.
As a team East posted 28 block assists, second all time in a 4 set match.
Sean Veenendall, Junior, put up 7 BA, ties him for 5 th all time in a 4 set match.
Well done coaches and boys.

Well clearly No one on the Kimberly team had the nachos with cheese.
Great season Brookfield East Spartans. Thanks for an entertaining and rewarding season, it was great watching you all play. Great job working hard and getting better throughout the season. Well done coaches, players, families and fans.
Hats off to Kimberly, a very complete and talented team. Congratulations on a big win and making the finals.

Congrats to Kimberly on their first state championship! With the season now concluded, what are all state predictions? Does Kimberly winning clinch it for Landon? Do any Germantown kids have a solid case? Spellman? Markes even though Tosa East didn’t make it?

Do any Germantown kids have a solid case? Spellman? Markes even though Tosa East didn’t make it? Landon is the most deserving of state POTY. Statistically speaking, Spellman is the front runner in POTY however statistics do not tell the whole story. Kimberly had an amazing season and Krause was vital to their success. That being said, I predict Landon as POTY with Spellman and Parker as All-State First Team selections. Not sure about other positions...

Official all state teams will be released Tuesday through Thursday of this week.
Prior to all the uproar that comes with this release a few points to remember.
1. It is about what you did during the high school season not how good of a player you were during the club season, or what you did last season. It is about what you did from September until November in 2019. 2. In order to receive all state rec you must be 1st or 2nd team all conference. 3. Here is the biggie, in order to be nominated for all state the COACH HAS TO NOMINATE THE PLAYER!!!!!!!
There are 19 spots for the top all state. 7 on 1st team, 6 on second team, and 6 on third/High Honorable mention all state. Quick go make a list of 19 players and look at how many good players you have to leave off.

When exactly does the voting for All State take place? Is it before or after the sectional final weekend?
And, I've been seeing this long enough to realize that the following, while they are not supposed to matter, do:
1) was the boy All State last year (this will work against the middle and the outside from Appleton North
2) do they play in SE WI so that most of the coaches get to see them play. There is a kid from Fond du Lac who is really good, I just don't know that over half the coaches who vote will have seen him play
3) did they have a great club season. I realize it is not supposed to, but coaches are human beings, it can't not affect how they see a player
4) is their team good enough enabling them to play to the level they are able.
5) is their team good enough at tournaments so that coaches from outside their conference can see them play
6) do they display good sportsmanship
7) are you a senior
8) did your coach ask you to play a role where you could not/did not generate results to get the attention of he voters. Did you switch positions to fill a gap.
I am not saying these things to criticize the people or the process it is simply an observation of human nature
My reason for saying this is because some very good players will not be on that list I have no idea how many players even read this blog anymore but this message to the players You know you are a good player, you don't need a list to tell you you're a good player. If you were a senior hopefully you look back on your career with joy and pride. Don't let not making the list or not being where you think you should be on the list diminish any of that joy or any of that pride
I know it is really nice to see your name on this list somewhere, and that you all will be happy for your buddies who's names are on the list. But really, the only lists you need to be concerned about are the one that your coach makes, the one that your teammates make, and the one that your parents hand out.
