Here some reasons why Lauren’s transfer actually makes sense: - Baylor is losing Milana to graduation so there is a certain spot open at her position - Baylor is a program that has consistently been on the rise over the last 5 years under McGuyre- McGuyre has shown that he can develop players, especially on the outside: Staiger, Philo, Pressley - McGuyre is also just a really great person and cares for his players off the court - Baylor is showing they are in the making of being a consistent top program and to continue that, they need top talent. “We’re in a position to win championships and you can help make that happen” is great for recruiting There are sometimes steps back for every step forward. Two seasons ago Baylor made it the round of 16; last season they were only able to make it to the round of 32. Thats not really a step back they lost 16-14 in the 5th at seeded Oregon last year. That seems like a super super nitpick. Had they not made the tournament last year that would have been a step back.

It's a fact that they LOST in the round of 32. You can't "nitpick" at a loss just because you lost by 2 points in the fifth set; it counts the same as a 12 point loss. Weak sauce.
By your logic, I guess Texas tied for the national championship in 2009 because Penn State only scored 2 more points in the fifth set. SMH

Just saying that the 2018 finish was Top 32 after a prior Top 16 finish in 2017; it's one less weekend of tourney play.

Sorry, but you’re wrong. The 2017 squad lost at home to Colorado in the second round. Baylor hasn’t been to the sweet 16 since 2009.

I had it in my head that when Baylor was hosting in 2017 it was the third round (which obviously doesn't make sense as it would have been a regional semi-final). My mistake. So, yes, no step back; continued consistent progress like you stated.

I mean, sure, that single particular result is a "step back" but that doesn't indicate that the program has taken a "step back" in level.

Actually, it would be a step back, point in time, especially if the expectations were higher. No way of knowing with certainty what the following season would yield.
You don't believe Minnesota took steps backward the last two seasons falling short of their seeds after two consecutive seasons in the national semi-finals?

So with Harrison coming in for Baylor who gets bumped in the line up?
