I still believe the bears are one of the best teams in the country, but they played poorly against K-State. Yes, they swept, but if they played a top 25 team, they might have not come out on top if they were as high error. I definitely believe it was an off night, but Baylor is just better than what they played. When McGee is hitting .111 and Stafford is .231 in conference, that doesn’t show that they are playing particularly well, just that their opponents aren’t particularly good thus far. Stafford is also only at .89 b/s in conference. Her conference matches aren’t even AAHM level, but her preseason performances will carry her through. She’s got to pick it up. Thankfully Lockin and Pressley are studs and have played very consistent as a whole. And Milana is hitting .431 in conference, balancing out the poor middle performances.
Fully trust and love McGuyre’s coaching. Believe the Bears will be able to play at a higher level more consistently with time, but if they aren’t careful, could stub their toe. Really just need the middles to get back to usual form.

I truly believe that the opponent you play also has an effect. Playing at there level and pace. When ISU played Kansas this week, I thought they played slower and not a lot of energy. I think you will see something different from both ISU and BU when they play each other on Wednesday. I believe Baylor is a legit title contender, not only in the Big 12 but NCAA. I'm excited to see them play in person.

In many matches, Baylor puts together long scoring runs. There’s times where Stafford sits on the sideline for really long periods of time because the other team isn’t siding out. When teams are only scoring 12 or 13 points in a set, there’s not much rotation going on. Fortunately, we’re only 3 games into conference so there’s still time for improvement.

Question for Baylor fans - I was only able to see the highlights of the Baylor/Mizzou game from a few weeks ago and I was wondering about both teams coming together in a circle at the end of the match? It was like prayer circle or something, is this a Baylor tradition? Just curious...

It was like prayer circle or something, is this a Baylor tradition? Just curious... Baylor invites every opponent to join them in prayer after the match. Some teams politely decline the offer but most will lock arms with Baylor players and end the night in prayer.

At first I mistakenly thought that was only Baylor players in the circle and I was wondering just how many players they had on the bench, lol. It was a nice thing to see the two teams come together like that. Is Baylor a Christian school, or was that a tradition started by coaches and players?

As for when the tradition started, I couldn't say.

Baylor is the world’s largest Baptist university and Texas’ oldest operating university.

It is ironic that Baylor's two set losses are to the highest and lowest Pablo ranked teams they have played. They have had a great season thus far, and it is just hard to see them not being a regional host if they stay healthy, which I hope is the case.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anyone attack from the back row quite like Pressley. She attacks so quickly and so high. Her hitting percentage may be better in the back than in the front row.

Anyone else slightly nervous for the Bears as they continue to sweep? I think they have a chance of winning a natty champ, but the pressure on them has got to be immense and completely new.

They’ve been handling it so well and team chemistry seems like it’s at an all time high. They’ve yet to crack under pressure and each set prepares them for the next. When you have that #1 in front of your name, everyone is gonna give you their best shot. Only gonna make them stronger

Based on the numbers of 5.86 kill / set, WHY not feed Pressley the ball more? She is number 2 in the country (in avg). Her per set avg is just sky high and the volume is not enough of 258. Give her more volume with that avg! If #1 is good then having her volume align with that avg will mean more than #1 ranking at the end of the season.

Or... maybe her average is that high because they mix things up and aren’t predictable going to her every time.
