Some interesting developments going on in A1.
Alice Degradi (Firenze) and Marta Bechis (Caserta) have landed at Brescia.
Monza landed Kathryn Plummer and has a new coach Carlo Parisi.
Rhamat Alhassan, Aurea Cruz and Alexa Gray have yet to be released by Caserta so they can transfer which is ABSURD! Their contracts were terminated so I'm not sure why they can't leave yet. Is that even legal?!

Plummer and Monza open up against Conegliano this Wed. Plummer coming off of a display of complete dominance in the NCAA tournament will show us how far the step up is to pro volleyball in Italy. Monza starts Orthmann and Meijners at OH. Two players coming off of solid NT performances in the recently ended Oly trials. At MB they have Denasi, Italian NT starter and the 26 yr old Heyrman, who gets the Hooker treatment from the Belguim NT. Ortolani, at OP, is a solid veteran who suffers from inconsistency here at the twilight of her career.
Monza stands sixth in league and is 4-1 in their last five. The big question for Plummer watchers is how she is going to be utilized. At OH it will only take one set to see where she stands because every serve will be going directly at her. Foecke has already shown she still struggles with passing and Monza can’t keep Plummer on the floor if she can’t pass.
Monza in not the VNL. It’s win every night so there is no time to train neophytes. To experiment at OP is where I think this season is headed for Plummer. If she can bring her attack to the right with the same ferocity she showed in the NCAA’s then she might just carve out a starting spot.
NCAA rookies have struggled adapting in their first pro seasons but if anyone can break the mold it would be Plummer or JT in Fenerbache. With Oly summer just months away and Karch’s total unpredictability in roster choices, it means that no one is safe or without a chance.
The remaining pro season gives everyone the chance to come in hot to start the NT season and I don’t believe there will be any individualized rest. Hill, Chiaka, Krob, and JT. They will all come back together.
I will dream for just a moment. If Guidetti can bring that Turkish team to the Oly’s just imagine what he could do with the USNT……

There is a rumor that there was some kind of problem with Plummer's visa and she'll join Monza this week. If true, it's too bad that she wasn't able to train with the team while Orthmann and Meijners were in Appledoorn at the Olympic qualifiers. I'm not sure if the rumor is true but it seems like she missed two friendly matches (vs Igor Volley Novara and Busto Arsizio) at Busto Arsizio this week. (E.g., here's a tweet of the team and I don't see her. )
If the rumor is true, I hope they get the visa issues sorted out soon.

Not uncommon for issues to arise for a Visa, particularly for work, but that's bureaucracy for ya.

Imoco vs Monza. Foli and Sylla back in the starting line up after injuries. Robin getting a rest and Chiaka still starting. Gennari setting and Woloz with the rest.

Sylla still struggling with reception. She broke during the CWC's and had to be replaced. Then out for injuries with Sorokiete replacing her and doing well with Geerties still off the bench. Sylla really has to strenghten her mental game if she wants to stay in the rotation. Hill, of course, is the anchor for reception as she continues her Jekyll/Hyde transformation between her pro and NT performance.
