So what should Karch do with Hill? Drop her? Put in Foecke? Put in a 4th MB? Put in a 3rd setter? Put in CT? Foecke is doing terrible in Italy, if she can`t even start for a low level team, there`s no way she should be in a Olympic roster. And all the other options on the OH are not any good either. So Hill-Larson-Kelsey-M.B.H are safe and sound in Tokyo. All the middles are weak blockers and not game changers, and if Carlini is going, what`s the point of taking a extra middle if none of them will get be anything sets at all?!!...Unless they need a extra cheerleader. Cuttino just lost her starting spot as well. Things are not looking good. No matter how hard you hit the ball, if you don't have a quick explosive approach your hitting will never translate well to the international game. Foecke has always had a slow deliberate approach that can not adjust well to sets that don't go exactly where she is expecting them. Also, I've always thought she had too much of a tendency to tip or off-speed the ball way too much (usually when the set isn't perfectly place). It really isn't a criticism of her skills. I think it just means she isn't a "quick twitch" athlete which is what most left side hitters are in the international game.

Curious what your thoughts are on Plummer's transition to the international level? I think she is even slower than Foecke I think Plummer will face the same issue. The good thing is that she is several inches taller which helps. The big differentiator is how well some see/uses the block and sees the court. Even less than stellar athletes can compete internationally if the have great court/block vision. I do think Plummer does a better job adjusting to mis-placed sets, and she doesn't have the same tendency to be tentative (as Foecke). None of these thoughts make me "right". They are just opinions. There are always players like Carolina Costagrande who don't look particularly athletic who become world class players. Athleticism and Volleyball skills are only part of what makes someone truly good at the sport.

Courtney is by far one of the weakest OH in the League....her hitting numbers are catastrophic. She should turn into a libero if she can only pass.

Wondering why hill is doing great in pro season but not during NT season. Maybe she's too tired because she's actually the #1 choice for that OH position in imoco, her defense is improving every game but when she plays in national team, she not delivering, just like what happened to her last summer.

Her attacks have more pop even when the ball is not in-system and she's receiving fairly well. The rest of USA girls are doing great too. Hill is defending and receiving well and Karsta has established herself as the main go to girl of her team.

Firenze and Busto Arsizio are the spoiler teams to watch!!!! I predict they will go 2 and 3 behind Conegliano this season!

Chiaka went 13/24 with 8 blocks for 21 points and was the top scorer for Conegliano's unfortunate 5 set defeat by Perugia who is bottom of the table. All the other Imoco starters weren't even on the roster as they are getting time off.
Sorokaite also helped carry the offensive load.

Imoco sweeps Firenze. Foecke didn't play much, had 3 points, Hill had 13, Chiaka had 10 (five blocks). Egonu led with 17.

Novara swept Casalmaggiore. -22, -22, -19. Doesn't look like Courtney played a lot... two blocks and two errors. Cuttino had 12 points for Casalmaggiore.
