Yet some think other outsides (Wilhite, Lee) won’t improve afternoon a season or two in the pros. Wilhite definitely upgraded moving to Brazil with Bauru. Jury is still out on Lee in Japan. All the clips I have seen so far of he she is struggling to pass even more than she has in the past. She is definitely the service target by most teams. Hopefully this will help her improve but if not I could see her being moved to the right side where she won't develop her passing at all.....which isn't good if she hopes to have a future with the NT. Wilhite is just a backup in Brazil. She`s like their 4th - 5th option. She can`t pass to be on the court. Foecke already lost her starting position....same for Perry-Jones. Moscow is really struggling with Carlini. She has been doing nothing but set Gonchorava every ball. Today they lost the SuperCup....and of course...Carlini had to be benched.

Were you watching? Hill had a good game on defense and serving and passing and did what her team needed her to do. They won in three easy sets. Teams target Sylla, that isn't Hill's fault. This was a great team performance, you're just looking to find things to complain about in relation to American players.

Hill had 23 in the golden set victory over ECZ against Bosko, Larson, and Kim which put them in the CL championship game last year but of course she can't deliver in the big matches. Sure she was key in the bronze medal match against the Dutchies in Rio but who cares, that wasn't an important game. It's clear that Hill is a two season player. She performs much better during the pro season which is why she has been the starting OH on the best teams in Europe for the past five years, but who cares she just doesn't have it when they need it but for some odd reason the teams keep bringing her back. Two years at Vakif and she only left after the Xmas massacre at one of the top night clubs visited by players and now three years at the top team in Italy. We all know it takes two to Tango so TT must mostly be playing with himself.

She’s doing what she’s supposed to do with her role. Chiaka on the otherhand is always off the bench. Since Folie is doing great nowadays she will have to beat Robin with every opportunity given to her and of course during practise. Sad to say Foecke lost her starting spot due to her reception. Jones-Perry did well off the bench in their last match. Alhassan is doing well overall as an MB. She’s batting around 40% success rate. She needs to increase her blocking numbers though. And by the way, her slide attack is now her number one weapon.

The problem for Chiaka is that Robin is a very popular long time player for Imoco and part of the posse; Woloz, Hill, Robin, and last year Fabris. Now with Egonu Robin doesn't need to be any more then regular to hold her position. Chiaka will play in league against the lower tier teams but she will always replace Folie who is very injury prone which means she has little chance to replace Robin. Still she is there and Santanelli is about winning. But I think she would have helped herself more by playing for a mid level Italian team. On a side note, Van Der Weide from Oregon is playing for Nantes in the French league and having a very successful season and Taylor Agost, Oregon, who played last year as an OP for Aachen has found a team in Greece, Aris, that is letting her move to OH and she is playing very well having achieved one MVP and weekly all-star award and leading the league in hitting percentage. I would like to see more players work their way up the competitve ladder whether or not they end up on the NT. Courtney who did not play in today's match is playing her role as OH2 well for Imoco and Hancock has got rave reviews for how she has managed the team when both OP's were injured. The key for all OH's on the top teams is they must have minimal acceptable receiving skills to play regardless to how powerful their attack.

Chiaka should go to teams like Firenze where she will be an all-time starter. Training with a bunch of great players is beneficial for her, but what she needs more is more time on court to develop her skills. She has great potential in both attacking and blocking, and she has not reached her full potential. Staying on the bench of Imoco is not helping that. As for Courtney, she is a much better OH than Libero. Her performance as an OH at Bergamo last year is the exact reason why Novara signed her this season. With a healthy Courtney at OH2, Novara can fight hard against Imoco; And without her, we all saw what Novara was like yesterday. I still hate to see Carlini in Russia, I know it's a lot of money, but the Russian style is not for her. No one on her team can pass a ball well, even the libero can't. And she is not doing any better there either. I wish she stayed in Italy, a mid-level club would still be better than Moscow for her. Poulter is doing well at Chieri, and Hancock is getting lots of praise for setting up the middle games while Brakocevic is injured. I am not sure where LC will be in the depth chart of US setters six months later.

Courtney is doing amazing as OH. Her hitting % is like 30% or lower almost every match. With her on the floor nobody can beat Novara.
Today Poulter, Lowe, Washington, Rolfzen, Cuttino all played poorly and got benched.
I'm sorry but this new generation is just not good enough. Tokyo will be the last time team USA will have a chance of winning a Gold Medal. They might need Larson and Foluke to stay for Paris too.

It’s kinda scary how much you seem to dislike all US players.

Egonu who has a reputation for being a bit of a prima donna seems to have quickly integrated herself into Imoco team culture which is led by their setter Woloz. What Italy wouldn't give to have Woloz set the Italian NT. She is clearly the best setter in the world right now. As usual, Hill is a no show in a big match. Hill received only 8 balls, and still struggled offensively 5/19 (26%). Sylla did only a bit better offensively 7/20 (35%), but she received 27 balls. Hill is super inconsistent, and she never plays well under pressure and when it matters. She only does well in regular season games. So....when she does not play well in Tokyo.....there`s no need to blame Karch or anyone else.... as u can see Hill can`t deliver with Conegliano either. So what should Karch do with Hill? Drop her? Put in Foecke? Put in a 4th MB? Put in a 3rd setter? Put in CT?
