It won't be easy or even likely, but let's see if Shanghai can score a win over Tianjin in the next match. After all, it is their last chance to retain a shot at the championship this year. And Lippmann still in Germany. Yes. But in any case, from an audience standpoint, I would appreciate a more competitive final where Shanghai can at least put up more a fight than just be another roadkill for Tianjin.

Tianjin has really been efficient in the Chinese Volley League this season. Their only bad showing was at the FIVB Club Volleyball Champs, when Zhu Ting was out. She’s just scary good.

But Tianjin has also been very efficient in other seasons. They are like the New York Yankees of the Chinese league, it gets a little boring to see them win all the time.

Of course I want to see Larson win, but it’s just without Lippmann, that’s a tall task. Chinese League didn’t take a break these two weeks due to the Olympics unlike the European club volleyball. Probably because they weren’t affected much with only a handful players needing to win a berth for their country.

Tianjin wins 3-1 and the whole league title as well. Devastating week for Lippmann... loss in the finals of the Olympics qualifier and then two days later loses in another final.

With Zhu there, the cards were heavily stacked in favor of Tianjin anyway. As for Lippmann, well she just got off the plane and went straight back on court. I don't think she was in the best shape in any case. Props to her though for her commitment. Its tough to jump from one competition immediately into another, not to mention dealing with jet lag and long haul flight between Turkey and China.

Shame to see how Hooker was used by Tianjin but setting the outsides has always been the Chinese systems. Larson looked really good this season in China. That said, China is really still just a one woman recking ball named, Zhu Ting.
