Just looking at PSUs record (9-5) and seeding (#13) ... if Illini had somehow dodged Wisconsin and Nebraska and played NU and MSU instead, we could be 11-7. Would we be playing next weekend?

If we won those 4 missed matches and took the 5 setters...... but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades!

That was more of a comment on PSU making the tournament.

I’m looking at Rutgers wondering if they finished off osu and had NW later in the season instead of at the start. I’m thinking they could have been on the bubble.

Yeah, Taylor! Closing out the season with some recognition for a couple great defensive performances!
Edit: Added the Illinois tweet for good measure! Also, to whomever does the Illini athletics twitter accounts- the word you're looking for is dominant, not dominate.

Re-watching the ILL vs PUR win on BIG in 60. A couple thoughts. Not having a middle who can run an effective slide really hurts us. The off blocker just camped out in the middle & helped the block. Our out of system balls are still to far inside for our OH’s. Seeing Raina & Bruna hit many D ball’s for kills was great to see. Kuper has transformed into a BIG 10 caliber libero. Our serving is much improved and is a big weapon. Next fall, Cooney should play OPP, Raina & Bruna as our OH and if Whittington/Bingham can run a slide they should start. Hinton/Swanson/Collins fight for the other MB. Mosher is gonna give Brown a run for the setter position. I think she’s a lefty so an attacking setter is a good option to have. DS we are fine with Eske, Barnes, the girl from Hawaii & Gregus. I would like to see if we can turn Gregus into Albrecht (sp) ala Nebraska. Does anyone know if Chi is coming back? Id like to see Tamas pick up a transfer OH to add depth as I dont think Ellie will be healthy for the fall season. Love seeing Coach Tamas let Bruna, Raina & Cooney play 6-rotations.
br] Just some thoughts but I’m incredibly optimistic for the future of this team. Go ILLINI!!!

Given the fact my writing skills were developed in the 60s, no one would call my writing “trendy”.

Still buzzing from Saturday's win over #8 Purdue, I wanted to see when was the last time that the Illini had a conference upset that big. It looks like you have to go as far back as November 18, 2017 when the unranked Illini beat #7 Minnesota 3-1 at Huff Hall: Team Effort Sends Illini to Upset Victory over No. 7 Gophers
The 2018 Illini beat #6 Wisconsin and #7 Penn State but they were ranked higher so it doesn't count as an upset. Anyway, just a fun stat to provide some historical context to the big W.

I love this video! Eli had big shoes to fill when he replaced departed assistant coach, Alfee Reft (to U San Diego as Associate Head Coach). This coach is a keeper!

Mosher isn't a lefty.
