and if we don't get live stats, the Texas beach volleyball twitter account needs to post more than once every 30 minutes

i don't know enough about beach volleyball to understand this: why do indoor players struggle so much? it's volleyball. everyone is playing in sand. it's not like jenna and ella suddenly forgot how to play volleyball Beach requires a complete skill set, receiving, passing, and hitting. Indoor players tend to specialize at one position or skill. For example, if you've spent you're entire life as blocker in the front row, what are you going to do when suddenly every team is serving you on every point?

Same with the strategy, shots, even some of the rules. Also, the indoor players are going to have fewer reps than most beach players, who've been playing all fall. So, I don't think they're up to speed with the college game, and that gives the opposing teams a big advantage.

I think a simple way I have explained it would be the difference of playing 5 on 5 basketball I versus if you were going to play a game of 2 on 2 in basketball.
Most (not all) court players focus on their most needed skill set. Middles don’t need to be good passers and liberos don’t have to hit.
I will be honest when my oldest daughter was 14, I encouraged her to play beach. I said “ you’re good at all the skills but you’re not great at any”. I didn’t mean it as an insult at all but just felt she was better suited for beach. She played beach, loved how many touches she got, etc. I think besides the obvious I really think it takes a lot of mental toughness that comes along with beach. There is no getting pulled if things are going bad and if they are you have to overcome being targeted and always being targeted on your weaknesses.

You have beaten UT-Martin, SFA, and UTEP. I get that you don't have all your players and that nothing gets serious until next year but you beat UTEP, SFA, and UTEP by scores of 3-2. 3-2, and 4-1...I get that it's better than losing but I wouldn't say that's "on fire material.

Not sure why so many UT beach fans only report wins, but certainly no disgrace to report they lost 3-2 to Texas A&M-CC, an established top 20 program. Scores are decent and looks like Horns competed, and at this point that counts. Questions earlier about UT's and Steiner's commitment are hogwash. When Texas commits, they commit 100%. Goes back t the early 80s when, Donna Lopiano, took over women's sports. Set the expectation sports were to be top ten EVERY year, and win a natty periodically. J
