Wright and Charles both sometimes starters at 4s or 5s before transferring.
I'm wondering what Stein is going to do about 1s through 3s. I suppose it depends on timeline. If I'm an established 1s, 2s player, I'm giving the program a year to get on its feet before transferring in. Who knows, maybe Stein already has that worked out for next year, and we just haven't got announcements yet. I'm not sure players the caliber of Maggie Boyd would want to leave a good chance at a Natty to be in the first year of a program.

Someone needs to keep a running list on this thread of the transfers into TxBV and also any opinions as to the quality of these transfers. I know nothing about beach, other than recently learning what it means when someone says, "Oh she was on the 1's"

If Stein allows some indoor players to play sand, there are a few who could battle at 5s/exh pairs: Kahahawai, Akana, Phillips, Crownover

He's already said in private remarks there's an expectation of some indoor players playing beach. I wasn't a part of the conversation that was relayed to me, and much of it didn't make a whole lot of sense except as part of a sales pitch to a big money booster who doesn't know anything about beach volleyball, but that part seemed reasonable. He also mentioned he's planning on doing a lot of redshirting the first year, which made no sense to me. But maybe I just don't have a good context for the conversation. Apparently he wants a five court facility, but UT doesn't have room for that on their campus, so they're planning on buying more land to build it. That's easier said than done. The land around UT is not as expensive as the land around UCLA, but it ain't cheap. Not sure how that's going to work. He also said he's turning down transfers at Texas that he would have taken at UCLA, which I don't believe for even one second. "...but it won't be up to him, of course." As an aside, Jerritt Elliott is his literal boss, with hiring and firing responsibilities on the org chart. It's an odd arrangement, but it also means if he's talking about having indoor players play beach, it's already been discussed.

I would guess that the bulk of the freshmen incoming class would be redshirted as the transfers and indoor players could provide most of the top 6-7 pairs. Stein didn’t recruit the incoming Texas freshmen himself. Do you have a list of 2023 high school graduates who had signed with Texas? On Texas IG, I see Rella Binney as a 2024 commit.

I don’t have a list. Not sure I agree with you regarding Metzger not recruiting incoming beach freshmen, in the sense there wasn’t anyone else doing it. The indoor staff was not out there actively recruiting beach freshmen prior to Metzger’s arrival. The program was pretty much in a holding pattern regarding everything until the new head coach was in place.
