I'd love to listen to Theo Brunner as an expert, if he doesn't qualify himself. A fun dude with a very analytical mind. Should provide great insides.

I enjoy Rich's analysis and live critiques. Sometimes his color commentary is a little out there, but it's not worth tuning out when he does go into those stories or comments

I can’t stand rich calling a game, I like travis, Simon and cam…. I also don’t know a single person that actually likes hearing rich call a game i like rich calling the games. his humor is so specific, but I think for casual fans who watch every 4 years he'd be great. though he is a former indoor Olympian I think he makes a lot of sense. I could also see dain being called if USC wins a fourth title in a row. would prefer either over travis any day. i absolutely hate how VBTV has travis calling almost every Mel and Brandie game. although the AVP Atlanta stream was wild, not having to hear Travis was such a nice treat. Chris Marlowe is core memory watching the Olympics growing up.

Well, they basically cannot do that. The announcers are almost always no longer on site. That's why there's never a live shot of them in the booth, even during the open, which is the most common time to see the broadcast team on camera. And no, they are not providing any coaching to the new announcers they are putting on air. Pretty sure some of the Bally Live announcers are on site. I know I've seen photos of them on social media sitting courtside with a laptop in front of them. That said, it would not surprise me if they're not being paid a dime. I'll amend my "almost always no longer on site" statement to most of the time not on site. During SoCal tour stops it's possible as that's where most of them live. I hope you're surprised by this, they are getting paid and make a decent rate.

Also can’t stand Travis Rich is probably one of my favorites. I also love when they have the players on. One of the Bellos and an Aussie come to mind. Travis used to be much better when he first started, but lately sounds similar to other Dain esque mediocre announcer. The main issue here is form vs content. A lot of announcers go for form over content and it seems like that is pleasing to the CEOs or whatever of volleyworld and the AVP. So they propagate.

More analysis of tactics. Also comments on plays that the amateur fan might not appreciate... like blockers picking up turnaround digs. Attacks on one and two, etc. Otherwise sometimes less talk - and let the fans enjoy the action without excessive background.

Something that always was annoying that Karch and Sundreland did when ESPN would only show less than 5 woman's indoor games a year, was they would speak to the audience like it was the first time anyone had ever watched volleyball and they were completely unaware of how the game worked or what the rules were. At this point the people that are going out of their way to find the streams and actually watch multiple matches definitely know what is going on and would prefer analysis and color commenting similar to what you would find on a Sunday NFL game broadcast.

We call this letting the action breath, Tony Romo is absolutely one of the worst as this - literally just won't shut up and even makes these weird audible noses while the game is going on or a play is getting spicy.

Whose your favourite NFL colour and lead? ps. I agree the audience is pretty discerning by the subscribe stage. I do think though the base is widening but usually their is a chunk of Vb/BVB knowledge there.

Whose your favourite NFL colour and lead? I think Greg Olson has really done a great job and is making people think twice about eventually putting Brady as the 1 over him, or someone will offer him a contract elsewhere. And contrary to what the mass opinion of them is, I enjoy Troy and Joe Buck a lot, but with them going to ESPN I miss him calling World Series games. Gus Johnson might be the worst hands down, and like I said before Tony Romo knows his stuff, he just is constantly talking and talking and talking and making noises and trying to say he knows what the play will be on like every other snap, etc. - Just let the action breath then comment.
