Did you even watch the match? Marco had one of the best matches I’ve ever seen him produce, he had Chase 2nd guessing himself the whole time. That’s not an easy thing to do, Chase is usually steady and responds well to adversity.
“Not that Treo will likely get out of pool” - Are you a Chase/Miles fan or just an anti-USA FAN? Theo and Trevor just won in Guadalajara, they have a great chance to make it out of pool.
If the Grimalts played anything like their best match ever, they wouldn't have dropped a game to Mudinger. That team has won two full field events and obliterated Nick/Phil in the process of getting one. They haven't played nearly as well in the last few years, but no way was this a career best performance
Also I disagree here, but Treo have failed to advance from pool in 80% of the Elite events they have ever played. Not sure you need to be a frothing anti-American to suggest it may happen again.
I never said they played one of their best matches. I said Marco did. he was killing everything, getting touches, pull digs, and several stuff blocks on both players. He won the match. Esteban played pretty poorly tbh, but made some plays down the stretch. So considering how they’ve been playing recently, Marco played out of his mind
Grimalts started the tournament with their best numbers against the Bello brothers… 90% side out and only 4 unforced errors in 3 sets vs 63% side out for the Bello’s (still decent), but 11 unforced errors. Their confidence level was super high after that match and Evans/Budinger probably under estimated them.

Dear Colleagues, We hope this letter finds you well. We are writing today to bring to your attention a recent and concerning trend that has surfaced at the Beach Pro Tour Challenger Events – the increase in injury forfeits during the pool phase of the competition. We acknowledge that there is a myriad of factors that may contribute to these forfeits, but the significant increase in their number has caught our attention and so, in turn, we are bringing it to yours. We understand that the safety and wellbeing of the athlete is, and should be, of primary importance but we believe that the athletes must also honor their commitment to the event in the spirit of fair play and competition. This increase in injury forfeits is having a detrimental effect on the viability of the tournaments and is negatively impacting the fans of our sport. Athletes on the Beach Pro Tour are not merely participants, they also serve as ambassadors for the sport, inspiring countless individuals around the world with their skill, determination, and passion, and most importantly their spirit of sportsmanship. To this end, we encourage you to prioritize communication with your Beach Volleyball Athletes, Coaches, and support staff to mitigate and manage as many of the injury risk factors for your athletes as possible, so that we can reduce the number of injury forfeits and ensure the quality and integrity of our events. As you are aware, each athlete has completed the FIVB E-learning course on Prevention of Competition Manipulation prior to their participation to the international beach volleyball tournaments, and the FIVB is committed to fight against any of inappropriate action and to minimize the risk of manipulation in its competitions. While the FIVB intends to review any upcoming cases of injury forfeits to determine whether such forfeits constitute competition manipulation in violation of the FIVB Disciplinary Regulations, the FIVB is also looking into revised competition format that will incentive teams to perform in full efforts to top the pool. The goal is to implement the new format in the Challenge tournaments starting from early June once approved, while maintaining the current format to respect the consistency during the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualification period. Please share this message with your beach volleyball athletes, coaches, and team support staff and let’s all work together to keep our athletes safe while upholding the competitive integrity of our sport. Thank you in advance for your attention and assistance in this matter. Kind regards,

As far as the end line vs side line cameras go, both have their benefits. End line has been amazing for seeing the newer style of play with the different locations and speeds of the sets along the net. Also you really get a feel for how far these players are running down some of these defensive shots. Sideline view makes it seem like these shots are so much closer than they are to the players. But in terms of viewing teams equally and seeing distance to the net, sideline of course is better. For a more experienced volleyball viewer looking at the nuances of the game, end line seems better to me, but sideline would be preferable for a casual viewer.
Let's see if this leads to any sanctions for any teams or not (I don't think so).
The intent of the letter is fine, but you can see why the FIVB is such a failure as an organization when they repeatedly pay lip service to the idea that the athletes may have been actually injured when its clear as day that they were lying.
Ending with "let’s all work together to keep our athletes safe while upholding the competitive integrity of our sport" may as well be an announcement that this won't be enforced

I don’t think the FIVB has any doubt that the players are lying, but this is just a diplomatic first attempt at addressing the problem. You know, carrot before stick. I would hope it at least sparks some productive conversation among the parties. We will see next week whether it has any effect in Xiamen.

I wonder how they'll change the format? Going back to the old pool play format would add a bunch of games to the tournament schedule (or require them to have a smaller main draw) and I don't know if they want to do that.

they will have to provide an incentive to winning Pool. They'll figure it out... probably already have months ago but couldn't implement it.

Considering the nature of pro beach vb, a fine would probably be effective.

They'll figure it out is not consistent with their history as an organization
