FSU ranked that high. That's the one team I didn't have in. Just out. Curious why ya'll think they will be that good. Audrey Koenig, Taylor Head, Khori Louis

Nebraska doesn't have anyone who jumps as high as Melissa Vargas, though. Maybe not on the RS, but Andi Jackson gets up there Jackson is a tremendous athlete, but I doubt she gets up as high as Skinner, who is absolutely a world-class volleyball athlete (and a heck of a player of course). I think that the people following the college players this summer pretty well agreed that the pro-readiness rankings of current NCAA players goes something like this: 1. Madi Skinner 2. Sarah Franklin 3. Lexi Rodriguez (could switch Sarah and Lexi easily) 4. Sophie Fisher 5. everyone else Point is, Nebraska's starter-level depth and lack of question marks is impressive; Madi Skinner is more impressive.

Shoot. Forgot about Western Michigan. Would’ve ranked them.

What us team does Melissa Vargas play for? Vargas is a pro from Turkiye who is probably the best volleyball athlete in the world (Paola Egonu stans are currently staring me down). At the VNL's this summer, she had the best vertical leap in the tournament. The second best? Madi Skinner Point is, only one team has a pro-ready, pro-level player and athlete. And that team is Texas. I'm just glad they don't have the TWO best pro-level, pro-ready players like they did last year.

the first/preseason ballot is always a brutal one. tried my best to dig players that teams were losing, returning and acquiring. keep in mind that this list gets less confident the farther you go down it ... haha!
Rank Preaseson
1 Texas 2 Nebraska 3 Wisconsin 4 Pittsburgh 5 Stanford 6 Louisville 7 Florida 8 Purdue 9 Penn St 10 Creighton 11 Kansas 12 Georgia Tech 13 Arizona St 14 Oregon 15 Dayton 16 Baylor 17 Kentucky 18 Houston 19 TCU 20 Western Kentucky 21 Florida St 22 Marquette 23 BYU 24 Georgia 25 Iowa St

I don't think anybody's arguing Skinner is the best player in college volleyball lolll.
As far as verticals go tho, I remember a few months ago Allick and Jackson were in a video and asked about their verticals, to which Becca said that Andi added 3 extra inches to her vertical as of back then compared to last season. And to think that could perhaps not even be her peak? Not to say she's jumping higher than Skinner but it's definitely not outrageous to say their hops and athleticism in that department is on the same level.

Kinda surprised that VT voted Texas as #1, given that we lose 3 starters and Nebraska returns all theirs not like the nc was a close battle

But as I said I'm curious to see Jackson's highest touch, not saying that it's higher than Skinner.

A huge part of Skinner’s game has been her point of contact, particularly the past two years as she’s grown to develop a confidence and comfort level. But even as a freshman I remember a swing of her just hitting right over Fields lol.

After watching NORCECA Final Six, I think the gap for Sarah and Lexi going pro is not so big. I agree there isn't anyone currently at Nebraska bringing the firepower that Madi is.
