Here was my ballot: 1. Texas 2. Nebraska 3. Wisconsin 4. Pittsburgh 5. Louisville 6. Stanford 7. Oregon 8. Tennessee 9. Kentucky 10. Penn State 11. Purdue 12. Florida 13. Southern California 14. Washington State 15. Georgia Tech 16. Arkansas 17. Creighton 18. Arizona State 19. Kansas 20. BYU 21. Baylor 22. Houston 23. Dayton 24. Western Kentucky 25. Marquette Top two could be interchangeable, however at this point, majority of this is made up from how teams finished last year, who they lost, who they returned, and who they acquired. I can honestly see Nebraska running the table this year, even though Texas still has Madisen Skinner. She is my pre-season favorite for National Player of The Year. I don’t see any other teams who have the depth, and talent in that depth, besides Texas and Nebraska to run the tables. Maybe Wisconsin or Louisville, but as always it is way too early to tell. I have Southern California high up there, as I believe they’re on the upward trajectory with their program along with the talent they have coming in for the next few seasons. Maybe a little too high, but again still too early to tell. I kept Arkansas on the list, but to be honest, that may change after the first week. With that being said, another exciting season of Women’s college volleyball awaits us all! The USC nod isn't this poll's worst crime though ☠️ *eyes 14*

Washington State at 14?
Are they even the 144th best team in the country?

I think people forgot how good Head was being caught up in Gillen (which, understandable) I thought they were getting Head to replace Koenig, not in addition to her… and with Louis, that’s 3 very good options of offense. If they still had Robey, they’d very much be a top 15 team. koenig was listed as a 'jr' on the avca AA list. and i believe i saw her on roster when i was putting my ballot together ...

Yeah it was just an oversight on my part.

Maybe not on the RS, but Andi Jackson gets up there 1. Madi Skinner 2. Sarah Franklin 3. Lexi Rodriguez (could switch Sarah and Lexi easily) 4. Sophie Fisher Am I the only one on here who thinks the argument for skinner or Franklin is basically even I actually think Franklin will transition better as an OH professionally :/

I don't think anybody's arguing Skinner is the best player in college volleyball lolll. As far as verticals go tho, I remember a few months ago Allick and Jackson were in a video and asked about their verticals, to which Becca said that Andi added 3 extra inches to her vertical as of back then compared to last season. And to think that could perhaps not even be her peak? Not to say she's jumping higher than Skinner but it's definitely not outrageous to say their hops and athleticism in that department is on the same level. The VNL had a clip this summer that detailed the highest touches of all athletes currently playing and Vargas was #1 at 10'8 and Madi was #2 at 10'6 I dont think it was detailing “all players”. if anything it was among the athletes that were there in that VNL week and for that location (so half the VNL teams). Bc Chiaka, egonu, JWO etc. would all have something to say about those rankings

It sucked that one of them had lose POY last year but I think Franklin was every bit deserving of the award.

And JWO? 😂

Tbh i would’ve put creighton at like 6 or 7 with who they have returning + who they added. I think especially that Goetzinger pick up will pay off big time

Sophie Fisher Am I the only one on here who thinks the argument for skinner or Franklin is basically even I actually think Franklin will transition better as an OH professionally :/ Okay - and you may not be the only one (I was going on what I thought the consensus for NORCECA and U-19 was this summer, and Skinner of course was off playing hooky with the national team instead). To me Franklin has a very specific role in the pros - well-executing OH1 on a top team who is not going to struggle in the passing game - whereas Madi's top level is a dominating opposite or a big-time OH1, yet to be determined. So sure, maybe Franklin's transition will be better because her role will be more well-defined. Madi however is our only pro-ready NCAA player with that kind of ceiling. So, I guess my rankings didn't exactly reflect what specifically I was ranking.
