The stage is set! Bowling Green (14-2) can win the MAC and host the MAC tournament if they can take down a red hot Ohio team Friday and Saturday in BG’s Stroh Center. Ohio (10-6) must win one match to make the tournament providing Toledo (8-8) defeats Kent State twice at Kent. If BG knocks off Ohio twice and Toledo wins a pair from KSU, the Rockets sneak in thru the back door. Other significant matches that will effect seedings, if Central Michigan (13-3) defeats a hot Akron Zip club twice and Ohio takes a match from BG, CMU ties for the MAC championship and CMU wins the tie breaker and will host the tournament. One thing already decided, BG or CMU will host the tournament. Two other very significant matches will be played in Muncie where Ball State and Western Michigan do battle for 3rd place. Both teams enter the weekend 12-4 with long win streaks and will be tough to beat in the tournament.

This is where the rubber meets road! The weekend where a MAC champion will be crowned, a MAC tournament site will be determined and 6 teams will qualify for the tournament and 6 seeds will be decided. There are going to be some great matches tonight many nearly impossible to predict! Kitten has correctly picked 40 of the last 45 matches but that incredible record could go south tonight. Biggest match in the MAC tonight is clearly Ohio (10-6) at Bowling Green (14-2). An Ohio victory will give the Bobcats a birth in the MAC tournament and eliminate Toledo (8-8.) A BG victory guarantees the Falcons a share of the MAC Championship. Here we go! Kitten’s Friday predictions are below.
Bowling Green over Ohio 3-2 Ball State over Western Michigan 3-1 Toledo over Kent State 3-0 Central Michigan over Akron 3-2 Miami over Northern Illinois 3-2 Buffalo over Eastern Michigan 3-0

Has anyone watched much of Miami? Seems like the season wasn't much different than the late years of Condit post-covid. Hope he can find Miami's way back to the top. Didn't think he would build it back up overnight but definitely thought they'd be better than what they are in the MAC right now with a couple of the transfers he brought in.

A lot at stake tonight as the MAC concludes the 2024 season. If Bowling Green defeats Ohio, the Falcons (15-2) wins the MAC championship, hosts the MAC tournament and Ohio (10-7) is left out of the tournament providing Toledo (9-8) defeats Kent State (1-16.) Kitten correctly picked 5 of 6 MAC matches running his record to scoring on 45 of the past 51 matches. Ball State took Western Michigan to the wood shed last night blasting the Broncos 3-0 and taking over 3rd place in the MAC with a 13-4 record while the Broncos fall to 4th place at 12-5. Central Michigan (14-3) remains in 2nd place after beating Akron 3-1. The Chips can still tie for the championship and host the tournament with a win tonight coupled with a Bowling Green loss. Buffalo (11-6) remains in 5th after defeating Eastern Michigan 3-1. Tonight is Kitten’s final predictions for the 2024 season and will conclude another year at the 80% mark. Below are Kitten’s picks for the grand finale.
Bowling Green over Ohio 3-2 Central Michigan over Akron 3-0 Ball State over Western Michigan 3-2 Buffalo over Eastern Michigan 3-0 Toledo over Kent State 3-0 Miami over Northern Illinois 3-2

A big congratulations to Bowling Green for winning the MAC with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Ohio eliminating the Bobcats from the MAC tournament for the first time in years. BG will now host the MAC tournament next weekend. Central Michigan (15-3) slipped by Akron 3-2 to finish 2nd and were clearly the surprise team of the MAC this year. Ball State (13-5) will be the 3 seed despite finishing tied for 3rd with Western Michigan (13-5) who stunned BSU tonight on senior night 3-2. Only 24 hours ago the Cardinals pummeled WMU 3-0. BSU won the tiebreaker to receive the tournament 3 seed. Buffalo (12-6) will be the 5 seed. The Bulls defeated Eastern Michigan 3-1 tonight on the Bulls home court. Toledo (10-8) knocked off Kent State 3-1 to take the 6th seed winning the tiebreaker over Ohio. Kitten finishes the season correctly picking 50 of the final 57 MAC matches. Good luck to all 6 teams that qualified for the MAC tournament with the winner representing the MAC in the NCAA tournament. See you next year!
