This is worse than last season!! Swindle needs to be the starter Play the setter that won you a National Championship. We need her leadership and fiery demeanor on the floor now. If she needs to set flat-footed to improve her location, so be it. 🤣🤣

But like, speaking of that top 10 post...
I should definitely prepare myself to see an undefeated Miami, who just won at Texas, ranked behind a 2-loss Longhorn squad in these upcoming AVCA/VT polls, correct?

The voters will put Texas at 8th and Miami at 23rd if they’re lucky. I’m interested to see what the voters will do with MN; at the time they voted last week they hadn’t accounted for Minnesota’s Monday win against Texas; Minnesota remained at 18th in week 2 polls. So that match should factor into ranking decisions this week. But then so should losses to Baylor and TCU obviously. What a conundrum. Has a team ever had a record of 1-3 where their only win was against the #1 team? Crazy.

Does anyone else not like Texas’s white court? It hurts my eyes and looks like the white parts are edited into the floor and not actually there. It just hurts.

A little research into their roster says it all. November will be an exciting month for Miami.

Unfortunately, Texas is not that good this year. Lot’s of talent but the team doesn’t quite fit together. After two great years, can’t be too upset though. girl bye it's the beginning of the season. we flopped similarly early-on the last two seasons. we will figure it out and be fine I agree. After last year's crazy run that scorched the girls, I will never count out the Longhorns.

ok i was already on the Miami train after watching them in week 1, but i did not think they would beat Texas?? what a great win for them! i think paula guersching was a huge pickup for them. they have depth on the pins now if someone is struggling, and guersching has been very, very low error so far this season. If there's one thing Ms. Paula is gonna bring, it's a low error game. 😍

OK, a couple things:
-Texas had match point in the 3rd. Not just match point, but, a swing at match. It was OOS though and Wenaas tipped.
-I went back to the 5th to see what Keno was so upset about. Texas was supposed to be in Ro 2 and Singletary was lined up to the left of Rutherford. Miami-FL called it out, but, to no avail. What happened was Texas realized it as the serve was coming, and they were moving to get into position, but weren't able to get in position by the time of the serve. Singletary moved towards the right spot, serve came, didn't get there in time, and was already too late so was moving back to the middle anyway.

Just watched the fifth set.
I know it's not possible but if this loss will stop the incredibly inane "WE.ARE.TEXAS" chant, I'm 100% for it.

totally agree. One question, does Texas not play on Terraflex this year? it’s definitely wood, when do teams have to have teraflex by? They’ll rent a taraflex floor if they host a regional. It’s not a requirement for the first two rounds. It’s not a matter of want to or financial commitment. Where they play is not under the auspices of the athletic department. It’s the recreation center for the general student body. Athletic department events there are rented from the administration of the rec center. Even though they’re all under the auspices of the University of Texas, these things matter from an organizational point of view. There’s no where to store the taraflex floor when not in use. So it has to be a wood floor for general rec use. Until the volleyball only facility is built - and preliminary plans were announced but there’s no budget or timeline for it, so who knows when it’s going to happen - there will be no taraflex floor. But the rule is already in place. To be honest, I’m not sure at this point Texas needs to be all that concerned about needing to have a taraflex floor to host regionals in any case.
