Syracuse has already tripled it's win total from last year. They look like they are going into conference play with at least 10 wins, too. If any team needed a steady diet of cupcakes, it's them.

This is my annual shout out to the South Carolina State Bulldogs who are in the midst of an incredible 6-year, 130 match losing streak (The win over NAIA Allen U last year doesn't count). They have won a total of 12 sets over this period, getting swept in 119 of the 130 matches.
With 4 set wins in 2023, things appear to be on the upslope. They have winless Tennessee State on Saturday and I'm hoping this is the year the streak goes down. Go Bulldogs!

If my math is right, SC State broke a 117-match losing streak to Division I teams. The only win since beating Savannah State, now DII, in 2018, was against DII Allen last year.

Juniata is on like a 67 game win streak in D3. Obviously it's D3, but damn. If people want to watch a marquis match up, Juniata will put their 67-match win streak on the line against Hope tonight in a rematch of the National Championship from last year at 6:30 pm EST. It's available on the Hope Athletics YouTube page. Hope vs JuniataBoth of these squads could compete decently against a lot of D1 teams. Should be a great game! |
